Lexus LC Convertible rolls out before NAIAS

While we’re still anticipating the potential of a high-performance LC F coupe,  Lexus has somewhat filled the void with their latest unveiling; the Lexus LC Convertible.

Claimed to be a concept, it looks ready to hit the production line. “This concept takes the unmistakable design of the LC Coupe and reimagines it as a future convertible” explained Cheif Designer Tadao Mori. “It blends all the best aspects of the original Coupe with the dynamic design of an open-air convertible.”

Measuring in at 4,770 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,340 mm tall, the Lexus LC Convertible sits 5 mm lower and 10 mm longer compared to its coupe counterpart.

Lexus decided to keep the convertible’s design identical to that of the LC Coupe except for the new roof of course. However, there are a few unique pieces.

These include new 22-inch wheels, black exterior trim and custom white leather and yellow contrast stitching inside.

Lexus did not specify what’s underneath the bonnet. However, it’s a safe bet to assume the naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 from the LC 500 hides beneath the bonnet.

Instead of a folding hard top, the Lexus LC Convertible makes use of a lighter soft-top roof which recesses behind the rear seats.

More details regarding the gorgeous Lexus LC Convertible will be revealed this week when the North American International Motor Show officially starts.
