Mitsubishi to launch special vehicle program, starts with L200 SVP

Special vehicle programs may be reserved for the super elite and luxury cars, but Mitsubishi wants a piece of the action with their own department and their first car: the Mitsubishi L200 SVP.

Available in either Cosmos Black or Cosmos Blue, each and every model is fitted with 17-inch black alloys surrounded by BF Goodrich off-road ready rubber, tinted lighting units, flared out wheel arches, rear camera, updated grille, black rear bumper, bed lights and a soft-opening tailgate.

Inside, you’ll find an updated interior with leather seats, navigation, keyless entry system and much more.

Power is drawn from a 2.4-litre turbodiesel motor rated at 177 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. Regarding transmission, L200 SVP’s can be had with a six-speed manual box or a five-speed auto box with paddle shifters and four wheel drive.

So far this model has been confirmed for the British Market. Seeing as we love tricked out pickup’s here in the GCC, there’s a chance the Japanese brand could launch the L200 SVP here or a different model. They would be foolish not to.

L200 SVP pickups are currently limited to just 250 units and cost around £28,479 or AED 134,587. If you’re tempted to import one, remember that all units are right-hand drive.

We’ll keep our fingers crossed that the L200 SVP isn’t just a one-off and that shortly we see a Pajero part of the SVp program and a revived Evo somewhere down the line.
