New GMC Sierra to be unveiled in three days

Spotted numerous times over the past couple of months undergoing testing it appears we won’t have to wait that much longer before the new GMC Sierra is revealed.

Previewed in a single teaser image and as dark as the picture may be, new C-shaped LED accent lights illuminate the rearranged front headlamps on either side of the bold front grille with a bulging bonnet with two distinct grooves. The new muscular pickup is said to weigh 204 kgs lighter thanks to an all-new platform and heavy usage of aluminium shaping the bonnet, doors, tailgate and upper control arms.

New GMC Sierra, new engine

Regarding power, the familiar petrol duo return with 6.2- and 5.3-litre displacements and will be joined by a new 3.0-litre turbodiesel motor. The larger petrol engine and the diesel motor are said to be mated to a ten-speed automatic gearbox, while the smaller petrol unit will have an eight-speed auto box.

Both petrol engines benefit from a technology known as Dynamic Fuel Management. This new tech shuts down up to seven of the eight cylinders in order to conserve fuel.

What’s inside remains a mystery, but you can expect a few unique trims including the iconic full-option Denali trim serving as the flagship model.

The good news is we just have to wait another 72 hours or so to see what’s in store for the new GMC Sierra, which is confirmed to be revealed on the 1st of March 2018. Stay tuned for more!
