New road opens Friday in Dubai; will reduce travelling time drastically

From the 8th of June, a new road will open in Dubai which according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will reduce travel time immensely.

Once the road opens today (we don’t know what time exactly), the RTA claims motorists won’t get stuck in traffic jams as the journey between Shaikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Street, and vice versa will only take two and a half minutes instead of 12 minutes.

Conveniently, the RTA has also released a short video showing how drivers benefit from the new road, where exactly is the new road and is referred to as the Parallel Roads Improvement Project.

From the video, we can see the RTA is aiming to ease traffic on Happiness street while also improving the traffic situation in the area by extending Al Meydan Road and Finacial Centre Road across the Business Bay District with three to four lanes in each direction.

Furthermore, the video goes on to explain “the traffic flow will ease with the construction of a 240-metre flyover at the intersection of Burj Khalifa Boulevard and Happiness street, along with a 535-metre underpass at the intersection of Happiness street and Al Khaleej road.”
