Porsche 911.2 GT3 RS to receive GT2 inspired aero kit

Porsche do in fact create some of the most exciting street-legal track-ready sports cars in the business. Over the past year, we’ve had the 911 R and just recently, the 911 GT2 RS. They’ve got another one on the way; the Porsche 911.2 GT3 RS.

While the current generation 911 GT3 RS has been around for a while now, this latest addition wears a more aggressive aero package inspired by the previously mentioned GT2 RS, NACA cooling ducts in the hood, new front bumper, and other minor tweaks here and there.

It’s not just additional aero benefits Porsche 911.2 GT3 RS receive. Reports suggest an increase of power is imminent for the already quick sports car. Current versions pump out 500 hp with reports penning the Porsche 911.2 GT3 RS generating 520 horsepower from the naturally aspirated flat-six motor.

On top of the increase in power, a manual gearbox is also said to be on the horizon alongside the lightning-quick PDK box.

And it doesn’t stop there. Porsche could offer the optional Weissach package as they are doing with the 911 GT2. This package would add lighter weight materials both inside and out with select components being constructed from magnesium and carbon fibre.

Obviously, equipping this package to a Porsche 911.2 GT3 RS would cost a little extra, but in return, you would have an ultralight German sports car.

Expect to see the Porsche 911.2 GT3 RS to debut in production guise later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
