Porsche 911 Turbo Project Gold is a gorgeous throwback

2018’s Pebble beach is in full swing and is filled with the latest sportscars, classic machine and some truly epic vehicles. That, of course, includes the Porsche 911 Turbo Project Gold.

Teased earlier this month, Project Gold is based on the 911 built between 1994 and 1998 and is commonly referred to as 993. Fitted with a never-before-used body shell, this one-of-a-kind Porsche has a bespoke engine built just for the car.

With a 3.6-litre displacement, the flat-six cylinder is twin-turbo and pushes out 450 horsepower and is connected to a six-speed manual and is all-wheel drive.

The 911 Turbo Project Gold not only draws inspiration from classic Porsche machinery but current iterations of the 911 lineup too specifically the Turbo S Exclusive Series. The 993 throwback is finished in the same Gold Yellow Metallic paint and also features a number of gold accents running throughout the interior.

Each corner is fitted with black 20-inch alloys and no 993 Turbo would be complete without the large rear spoiler or “whale tail”.

One extremely lucky die-hard Porsche fan will be able to claim the Porsche 911 Turbo Project Gold as there own as it will go up for auction on the 27th of October at RM Sotheby’s Porsche 70th Anniversary Sale with the proceeds going to the Ferry Porsche Foundation.

We’ve got a feeling it may find a loving home somewhere in the GCC, but we’ll wait and see what happens in October.

But just before it rides onto the auction block, Porsche and car fanatics will have another chance to see the vehicle in the flesh at the Rennsport Reunion in September.

Dubicars has new Porsche 911 and used Porsche 911 for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
