Ras Al Khaimah Police place new radars near Jebel Jais

Jabal Jais is not only a popular destination for a family day out it also has a winding, twisting road to drive on. Many motoring enthusiasts from across the UAE flock to the picturesque area week after week to speed through along the mountainside road, and some are doing it a bit to fast. Naturally, the police have stepped in to express their concern and do the needful.

Motorist and families are not the only ones frequent to the site, residents and tourists also flock to the hotspot and in order to keep everyone safe, the Ras Al Khaimah Police have installed several new speed-cameras to deter speeding motorists.

Set at 120 km/h, Brigadier General Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police stressed ” The Jebel Jais is often used during weekends and public holidays by families. Motorists have to be cautious while driving and should abide by traffic laws for their own safety and the safety of others.”

Radars have also been set up on other by-roads across the Emirate.

Jabal Jais has recently been recognised by the Guniess Book of World Records for having the world’s longest zip line, and soon, the famous area will be home to a new campsite.
