Summary

This 14-year-old Audi Q5 remains a sought-after choice in the GCC market, offering a balanced blend of German engineering and everyday practicality. With 153,000 km, its mileage sits well below the typical 280,000+ km expected for a vehicle of this age in the region, making it a compelling find for buyers. The bold Red exterior is a standout choice that retains unique appeal in a market often dominated by neutral tones, while the GCC specification ensures the cooling and filtration systems are ready for the local climate. As a premium crossover, it continues to lead its age group in cabin refinement and highway stability. For the local buyer, this listing represents a well-maintained entry into the luxury SUV segment without the steep depreciation of a newer model.

This Car vs Other 2012 Q5s

While many SUVs of this era in the UAE and wider GCC have surpassed the 250,000 km mark due to frequent cross-city commutes, this example’s 153,000 km total is considered notably low for its 14 years of age. The Red paintwork is a distinctive choice that maintains strong shelf appeal on the used market compared to standard white or silver units. This combination of lower-than-average mileage and a vibrant color profile makes it a high-visibility option for discerning buyers.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Standard trim on the 2.0 TFSI provides essential Audi luxuries that GCC buyers prioritize, including the high-fidelity 10-speaker audio system and tri-zone automatic climate control for effective cooling in the summer. Unlike entry-level crossovers in this segment, it features genuine leather upholstery and power-adjustable front seats as standard. It also includes the 8-speed Tiptronic transmission, which offers smoother highway cruising compared to the older 6-speed units found in some contemporary rivals.

Q5 vs Segment Rivals

The Q5 stands out against the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK from the same year by offering a more spacious 540-litre boot and a more compliant ride quality on rougher secondary roads. Its 75-litre fuel tank is particularly advantageous for long-distance drives between Emirates, offering a longer range than many compact luxury rivals. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system remains a benchmark for stability during the region's occasional heavy rain and on gravel tracks.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0 TFSI typically averages around 10.5 L/100km in GCC city traffic, dropping significantly during steady highway cruising. Audi has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring that parts like filters and brake components are readily available. While European luxury SUVs generally see higher annual depreciation than Japanese alternatives, the Q5's established popularity in the region helps it maintain a steady floor price once it reaches this age.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers 211 hp and a robust 350 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 7.1 seconds—performance that remains competitive for modern city driving. The Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system provides exceptional grip, making it a confident companion for weekend trips to the mountains or sandy coastal roads. With a top speed of 222 km/h, it is perfectly suited for the high-speed limits of major GCC highways, offering a planted and quiet cabin experience.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the 5-passenger family experience, featuring a tri-zone climate control system that allows rear passengers to manage their own cooling—a vital feature for the GCC summer. High-quality materials and acoustic glass help insulate the interior from external heat and road noise during long commutes. The 540-litre boot expands to 1,560 litres with the rear seats folded, providing ample space for airport runs or large grocery trips.

Safety

Standard safety features include a comprehensive array of six airbags and electronic stability control, which is essential for maintaining traction on sandy or dusty road surfaces. The Q5's Quattro system acts as a proactive safety feature by distributing power to the wheels with the most grip in real-time. It also features ISOFIX child seat mounting points and a reinforced safety cell, contributing to its reputation as a reliable family-oriented crossover.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Q5 is an ideal match for a professional or small family looking for a low-mileage, premium European SUV that has already moved past its steepest depreciation curve.
