Summary

This GCC-spec Range Rover HSE LE represents a refined choice for buyers seeking the iconic L405 silhouette paired with the potent 8-cylinder supercharged powertrain. With white exterior paint offering the strongest resale demand in the local market, it remains a highly desirable configuration for the region. As a Limited Edition trim, it bridges the gap between the standard HSE and the flagship Autobiography, providing a balanced mix of luxury and capability. The fourth-generation aluminum unibody ensures superior handling on UAE highways compared to older steel-bodied rivals. For the discerning GCC buyer, this vehicle offers the quintessential blend of executive presence and proven desert-crossing heritage.

This Car vs Other 2014 Range Rovers

While average annual mileage in the GCC typically ranges between 20,000 to 25,000 km, this vehicle sits at approximately 18,300 km per year, placing it well within the expected usage for a luxury SUV of this age. The white exterior is the premier choice for the UAE climate, significantly helping with heat reflection and long-term value retention. Being a GCC-spec model, it features the cooling systems and dust filtration necessary for reliable operation in extreme desert temperatures.

HSE LE vs Lower Trims

The HSE Limited Edition (LE) adds significant premium features over the standard V6 HSE, most notably the high-output 5.0L Supercharged V8 engine. It typically includes upgraded Meridian audio, 20-inch or 21-inch alloy wheels, and more sophisticated interior leather options as standard. Buyers also benefit from the Terrain Response 2 system, which adds an automatic mode that adjusts vehicle settings without manual input—a key advantage during changing UAE terrain.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Lexus LX 570 or the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the Range Rover offers a more sophisticated aluminum architecture that results in a more composed highway ride. Its 900 mm wading depth leads most competitors in the luxury segment, providing extra confidence during heavy seasonal rains. The interior space and rear legroom are particularly generous, making it a more comfortable cross-emirate cruiser for five adults than the more utilitarian G-Wagon.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.0L Supercharged V8 is approximately 13.8L/100km, which is typical for a high-performance SUV in this class. Service intervals are recommended every 13,000 km or 12 months, and the Land Rover authorized service network is extensive across the UAE and wider GCC, including Saudi Arabia and Oman. While European luxury SUVs generally depreciate faster than Japanese alternatives, the Range Rover maintains a strong following in the secondary market, especially for well-maintained V8 GCC examples.

Performance & Capability

The supercharged V8 produces an impressive 510 hp, allowing this large SUV to reach 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. It is equipped with a two-speed transfer case and electronic air suspension, providing up to 295 mm of ground clearance for off-road excursions. The dual-range gearing and locking center differential make it highly capable for weekend desert drives, while the 8-speed ZF transmission ensures effortless overtaking on high-speed highways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of Oxford leather and wood veneers, featuring a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment screen. Dedicated rear climate zones and powerful GCC-spec air conditioning ensure all five passengers remain comfortable during the peak of summer. Excellent acoustic glass insulation keeps the cabin exceptionally quiet, even at highway speeds, shielding occupants from wind and road noise.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes a comprehensive suite of airbags, Electronic Traction Control, and Hill Descent Control. The Terrain Response 2 system acts as a safety layer by optimizing grip on sand, gravel, or wet tarmac. GCC-useful features like front and rear parking sensors and cruise control are standard, assisting with both tight urban parking in Dubai and long-distance desert highway travel.

The bottom line

This Range Rover is the ideal match for an executive or family looking for a high-spec V8 SUV that has been correctly specified for the GCC. It offers a significant power advantage over the base HSE while maintaining the timeless prestige of the L405 generation.
