Summary

This Nissan Pathfinder SV is a highly practical seven-seater choice for families navigating the diverse landscapes of the GCC. With its fuel-efficient 3.5L V6 engine, it balances the power needed for long highway commutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai with sensible running costs. The silver exterior is a strategic choice for this region, known for its excellent heat reflection and superior resale value in the used market. As a GCC-spec model, it offers the peace of mind of a cooling system designed for peak summer temperatures and full compatibility with local service centers. It remains a standout in its segment for those prioritizing cabin versatility and long-distance comfort.

This Car vs Other 2014 Pathfinders

With 171,600 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 17,000 km per year, which is well below the typical GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. This lower-than-average usage for the region translates to less wear on the drivetrain and interior. The silver paint is among the most sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring it holds its value better than darker alternatives.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim provides significant upgrades over the base S model, most notably the inclusion of a rearview camera and rear parking sensors which are essential for maneuvering a large SUV in tight city parking. It also adds smart keyless entry with push-button start and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. These convenience features greatly enhance the daily driving experience compared to the entry-level specifications.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot, the Pathfinder leads with its EZ Flex Seating System, allowing the second row to tilt and slide even with a child seat installed. Its fuel tank capacity of 74 litres supports long-distance travel across the Emirates without frequent stops. The unibody construction provides a smoother, car-like ride quality on highways that rivals the refinement of more expensive luxury crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Nissan enjoys one of the most robust service networks across the UAE, KSA, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.5L/100km, which is competitive for a six-cylinder family SUV in GCC stop-start traffic. Japanese SUVs of this era typically experience a steady depreciation of 8–10% annually in the local market, making this a stable asset compared to European competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5L V6 engine delivers 260 hp, providing ample power for overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11. Its Xtronic CVT is tuned for efficiency, maintaining low RPMs at cruising speeds to enhance cabin quietness. While primarily road-oriented, the 2,268 kg towing capacity makes it capable of hauling jet skis or small trailers for weekend trips to the coast.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful tri-zone automatic climate control system with dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure every passenger stays cool. The silver exterior further assists in keeping cabin soak temperatures lower during the summer months. Acoustic glass and thick insulation provide a serene environment, shielding passengers from road noise during long cross-border drives.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this SV trim includes six airbags, electronic stability control, and traction control to manage sandy or wet road surfaces. The inclusion of a rearview camera and tire pressure monitoring system provides added security for family duties. Its 5-star NHTSA overall safety rating underscores its suitability as a protected environment for transporting children.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Pathfinder SV is the ideal match for a family seeking a well-maintained, mid-mileage SUV that is perfectly adapted to the local climate and service infrastructure.
