• 900 mm maximum wading depth

Summary

This 2015 Range Rover HSE represents a sophisticated entry into the flagship luxury SUV segment, finished in white—a color that consistently maintains high resale value in the GCC. While many regional examples are powered by the V6, this model features the more substantial 5.0L V8 powertrain, offering the effortless torque required for smooth highway cruising between emirates. With the HSE trim, you benefit from premium Land Rover amenities without the added maintenance complexity of the higher-tier Autobiography electronics. It serves as a versatile all-rounder, transitioning seamlessly from urban executive commutes to weekend desert exploration. For the GCC buyer, the combination of a white exterior and the prestige of the full-size L405 chassis makes this a highly recognizable and liquid asset in the local used market.

This Car vs Other 2015 Range Rovers

At 180,000 km, this vehicle reflects an average of 20,000 km per year, which is typical for a luxury SUV used for daily commuting and highway travel in the GCC. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the regional market, providing a significant advantage in cooling efficiency during summer and stronger resale potential compared to darker hues. Unlike many 2015 models that entered the market with the 3.0L V6, this V8 variant offers a more traditional Range Rover power delivery that is favored by local enthusiasts.

HSE vs Lower Trims

The HSE (High Specification Equipment) trim adds essential luxury features over the base SE model, including 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, and upgraded Oxford leather upholstery. Crucially for the GCC climate, this trim includes heated and ventilated front seats as well as a refrigerated center console compartment to keep beverages cold during long drives. You also benefit from the power-operated tailgate and soft-close doors, features that define the premium flagship experience.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

The Range Rover leads competitors like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in pure off-road pedigree, offering a superior 900 mm wading depth and the legendary Terrain Response system. While the Lexus LX 570 offers a more utilitarian 4x4 approach, the Range Rover provides a more refined monocoque chassis that delivers better on-road comfort and isolation from highway noise. Its split-tailgate design remains a unique practical feature for outdoor social events that rivals have yet to match.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.0L V8 typically averages around 14–16 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, though highway cruising can be more efficient. Land Rover has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with recommended service intervals of every 10,000 km or 12 months for this region. While European luxury SUVs experience higher depreciation than Japanese rivals, the Range Rover's iconic status ensures a steady pool of buyers, especially for GCC-spec models with a documented service history.

Performance & Capability

The 5.0L V8 engine produces 375 hp and 510 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in approximately 6.8 seconds. This power is managed by an 8-speed automatic transmission and a permanent All-Wheel Drive system that excels in soft sand and gravel. With a maximum ground clearance of 295.5 mm provided by the adjustable air suspension, it remains one of the few luxury vehicles truly capable of crossing the dunes of Al Qudra one day and parking at the Opera the next.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a masterclass in British craftsmanship, featuring triple-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents to combat extreme summer temperatures. Acoustic laminated glass ensures the interior remains a quiet sanctuary, effectively blocking out desert wind and city traffic noise. The elevated 'Command Driving Position' provides excellent visibility, reducing fatigue during long cross-country journeys between Abu Dhabi and Muscat.

Safety

Standard safety features on this HSE trim include seven airbags, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), and Roll Stability Control (RSC), which are vital for maintaining composure in high-speed highway maneuvers. It also comes equipped with Hill Descent Control and a rearview camera to assist in tricky off-road or tight urban parking scenarios. The L405 generation earned a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, underscoring its robust construction and commitment to passenger protection.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Range Rover HSE is the ideal choice for a buyer seeking the prestige of the full-size flagship with the robust 5.0L V8 engine and a high-resale white exterior.
