Summary

This 2016 Range Rover Sport SVR is a standout performance SUV, combining track-ready dynamics with the legendary off-road capability that GCC buyers demand. With only 72,000 km over 10 years, this example has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000 km annual average for the region, making it a rare low-mileage find. The Estoril Blue exterior remains a highly desirable and iconic color for the SVR trim, ensuring strong resale appeal in the local market. For the UAE buyer, this model offers the perfect balance between an aggressive street presence and the mechanical cooling required to handle the desert heat. As the first product of the Special Vehicle Operations division, it represents a unique era of hand-tuned Land Rover performance.

This Car vs Other 2016 Range Rover Sports

At 10 years old, a typical car in the GCC would have accumulated over 200,000 km given the region's highway-heavy lifestyle. This SVR sits at just 72,000 km, representing exceptionally low usage and a clear advantage for long-term ownership. Its blue finish is the signature launch color for this trim, which historically holds value better than generic shades in the used performance market.

SVR vs Lower Trims

The SVR is a significant leap over the Autobiography and Supercharged trims, featuring a bespoke active exhaust system that delivers a sharper soundtrack and a recalibrated 8-speed transmission with 50% faster shifts. Inside, it adds unique 16-way SVR performance seats and a standard 19-speaker 825-watt Meridian Surround Sound system, features that are often optional or unavailable on lower grades.

Range Rover Sport vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Porsche Cayenne Turbo or BMW X5 M, the SVR leads in total versatility thanks to its adjustable air suspension and Terrain Response 2 system. While rivals focus purely on the road, the SVR retains a massive 850 mm wading depth and a two-speed transfer case for genuine off-road duty. It also offers one of the largest fuel tanks in its class at 105 litres, ideal for cross-emirate trips.

Running Costs & Resale

The supercharged V8 typically averages around 18.0 L/100km in GCC conditions, reflecting its high-performance nature in city traffic and long highway cruising. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from the extensive Al Tayer and Euro Motors service networks across the UAE and wider region. Historically, the SVR trim retains roughly 10-12% more of its value compared to standard V8 models after three years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

With 575 hp and 700 Nm of torque, this SUV launches to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260 km/h. On the road, active roll control and torque vectoring keep the 2.3-ton chassis flat through corners, while the air suspension can be raised for a maximum ground clearance of 278 mm. It is equally capable of high-speed highway overtaking and navigating soft sand during weekend desert excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is optimized for the GCC climate with a powerful three-zone climate control system and high-quality Oxford leather seats designed to stay comfortable during peak summer. Acoustic glass ensures a quiet environment even on high-speed motorways, and the sliding panoramic roof provides an airy feel without compromising cabin cooling. The 5-seat layout offers ample legroom and a flat-folding rear row for versatile cargo space.

Safety

Standard safety tech on this SVR includes a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control, which are essential for navigating fast-moving UAE traffic. It also features advanced traction systems like Cornering Brake Control and Dynamic Stability Control, ensuring the vehicle remains composed on uneven gravel surfaces or during emergency highway maneuvers.

The bottom line

This SVR is an ideal opportunity for a performance enthusiast looking for a low-mileage, GCC-spec icon that hasn't suffered the usual high-mileage wear of regional highway driving.
