Summary

This Nissan Patrol LE T1+ represents a practical entry into the legendary V8-powered Y62 generation, combining significant road presence with the durability for which the model is famous. With silver being one of the most resilient colors for local resale and this specific trim offering a 317-horsepower V8, it balances daily drivability with weekend capability. The mileage is appropriate for a 10-year-old vehicle in the GCC, reflecting the long-distance highway use typical of UAE family life. As a regional favorite, it offers a commanding view of the road and enough space for eight passengers. For any buyer in the region, the widespread availability of parts and expert technicians makes this one of the most sensible large SUV investments available.

This Car vs Other 2016 Patrols

At 10 years old, this vehicle's mileage of 192,000 km is well within the expected range for the GCC market, where annual averages often exceed 20,000 km. While many examples from this era have been modified for extreme desert use, this silver LE T1+ typically indicates a life of highway commuting and family duties. The silver exterior is a strategic choice for the region, known for maintaining its luster under the intense sun and holding value better than niche colors at resale.

LE T1 + vs Lower Trims

The LE T1+ serves as the gateway to the 5.6L V8 powertrain, offering a significant performance jump over the V6-equipped SE models. It adds key convenience features that GCC buyers value, such as a sunroof, powered tailgate, and upgraded interior materials compared to the base XE. It also features the specific cooling and electrical upgrades standard on LE grades to handle the peak UAE summer heat more effectively than entry-level variants.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Against the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Patrol leads with its massive 140-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for cross-emirate drives to Oman or Saudi Arabia. Its 317-hp V8 is noted for smoother highway cruising and overtaking power compared to the V6 alternatives found in the Chevrolet Tahoe or Ford Expedition from the same year. The Patrol also provides a more generous eight-seat configuration, ensuring better family logistics for large groups.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.6L V8 is a robust engine designed for high-temperature durability, though fuel consumption in GCC stop-start traffic averages around 15.8 L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized service network in the region (including Al Rostamani and Al Masaood in the UAE), maintenance is convenient and cost-competitive. The Patrol historically retains approximately 85-88% of its value in the first year and continues to depreciate at a slower rate than European luxury SUVs, making it a highly liquid asset in the used market.

Performance & Capability

With 317 hp and a massive 140-litre fuel tank, this Patrol is built for the long haul across the desert landscape. It offers a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, making it ideal for hauling boats or trailers to the coast. The All Wheel Drive system and body-on-frame construction ensure it remains a capable companion for weekend desert camping while maintaining stability on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is configured for eight passengers, featuring multi-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents that are essential for maintaining passenger comfort during UAE summers. The LE T1+ trim includes a leather-trimmed steering wheel, a cooling box for drinks, and a flexible seating arrangement that allows for flat-folding the third row for increased cargo space. Cabin insulation is specifically tuned to reduce wind and road noise during high-speed highway travel between cities.

Safety

Standard safety features for this trim include front and side airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Brake Assist. It is equipped with cruise control for long desert highway drives and parking sensors to assist in navigating large city parking spaces. The vehicle's high seating position provides excellent visibility, a key safety factor in fast-moving multi-lane traffic.

The bottom line

This 10-year-old Patrol is the ideal choice for a family looking for V8 power and legendary reliability in a GCC-spec package that holds its value exceptionally well.
