Summary

This Range Rover Evoque Convertible offers a rare opportunity to own a segment-defining luxury drop-top with surprisingly low mileage for its 9 years on the road. Finished in a versatile Grey that holds its value well in the GCC market, this HSE trim balances unique open-air styling with genuine Land Rover capability. It stands out from typical crossovers by offering a fully insulated power-folding fabric roof that operates at speeds up to 48 km/h, perfect for the UAE's cooler evening drives. While most SUVs prioritize utility, this model is designed for those who want a high-riding perspective with the freedom of a cabriolet. Ownership in the GCC is supported by a robust parts network and a cooling system specifically engineered for high-ambient temperatures.

This Car vs Other 2017 Range Rover Evoques

At 63,294 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the 180,000 km typical for a 9-year-old car in the GCC. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, resisting the visible effects of dust while remaining a top-tier color for resale. This low-mileage example represents a well-preserved instance of a unique body style that is increasingly hard to find in such condition.

HSE vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim is a significant upgrade over the SE Dynamic, adding 12-way Oxford leather memory seats and configurable ambient interior lighting that enhances the night-driving experience in the city. It also features upgraded exterior lighting and the superior 10.2-inch Touch Pro infotainment system. These premium touches, alongside the standard Meridian sound system, make the HSE far more desirable in the secondary market.

Range Rover Evoque vs Segment Rivals

The Evoque Convertible occupies a unique space, as traditional rivals like the Porsche Macan or Lexus NX only offer hardtop configurations. It leads the segment in lifestyle versatility, offering 211 mm of ground clearance and Land Rover's Terrain Response system, which allows it to handle sand and gravel tracks that would stop other luxury convertibles. For the GCC buyer, it offers a high-seated 'command' driving position that peers over traffic, a feature missing from low-slung sports convertibles.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0L turbocharged engine averages approximately 8.6 L/100km on combined cycles, though GCC stop-start traffic may see higher figures. Service intervals are typically every 16,000 km or 12 months, and the extensive Al Tayer and EuroMotors networks ensure authorized support across the UAE and wider GCC. The Convertible trim holds a specialized niche in the market, often retaining value better than high-volume five-door models due to its limited production and enthusiast appeal.

Performance & Capability

With 240 hp and 340 Nm of torque, this Evoque delivers a top speed of 209 km/h, ensuring confident highway overtaking on the E11. Unlike most cabriolets, it retains Land Rover’s off-road DNA, featuring Hill Descent Control and multiple terrain modes for beach or desert-edge excursions. The 9-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth cruising, providing a refined experience whether the top is up or down.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a strictly four-seat environment designed with high-quality Oxford leather and deep-bolstered seats for long-distance comfort. The air conditioning system is specifically designed to maintain cabin temperatures even in high humidity, with a powerful blower motor essential for GCC summers. Despite the folding roof mechanism, the 251-liter boot remains constant regardless of the top's position, providing enough space for weekend getaways between emirates.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite including Roll Stability Control and a specialized pop-up rollover protection system hidden behind the rear seats. Standard ADAS features on this trim include a rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and Emergency Brake Assist, which are vital for navigating busy urban environments like Downtown Dubai. The reinforced chassis ensures that even without a fixed roof, the vehicle meets stringent global safety standards.

The bottom line

This is a rare, low-mileage GCC-spec convertible that offers the prestige of a Range Rover with a unique open-air lifestyle, making it a standout choice for a stylish daily driver or a weekend cruiser.
