• 140-litre fuel tank capacity
• Low-range transfer case with locking differentials

Summary

This Nissan Patrol SE T2 offers a balanced entry into the Y62 generation, pairing a capable 4.0L V6 with high-specification leather seating. While its mileage reflects the typical long-distance highway use common in the UAE, the model's reputation for mechanical longevity makes it a reliable choice for family duties and desert weekends. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the local market, ensuring it maintains a sharp executive appearance while aiding future resale value. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is purpose-built to handle extreme summer heat with a cooling system far superior to imported equivalents.

This Car vs Other 2017 Nissan Patrols

With 280,000 km, this vehicle has been a dedicated long-distance cruiser, typical for the 25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. While the mileage is higher than garage-kept examples, the V6 powertrain is known for being less stressed on highways, often reaching significant milestones when maintained correctly. The black-on-leather combination is one of the most resilient for resale in the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets.

SE T2 LEATHER vs Lower Trims

The SE T2 trim introduces significant quality-of-life upgrades over the base XE, most notably the power sunroof and remote engine start, which is essential for pre-cooling the cabin during GCC summers. This specific Leather edition replaces the standard cloth upholstery with premium seating and adds a 7-inch infotainment display with DVD compatibility and a powered tailgate.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol leads rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser and Chevrolet Tahoe in fuel capacity, with its massive 140-litre tank providing exceptional range for cross-border trips or long desert expeditions. Its independent rear suspension offers a more composed ride on paved highways compared to the Land Cruiser's live-axle setup, without sacrificing the off-road hardware required for Liwa or Fossil Rock.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 averages around 11.8 L/100km on combined cycles, though stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai may see higher figures. The Patrol enjoys one of the strongest resale values in the GCC, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually, anchored by a massive network of authorized service centers across all seven Emirates and neighboring Saudi Arabia. Parts are widely available and affordable, ensuring long-term maintenance costs remain predictable.

Performance & Capability

The 4.0L V6 produces 275 hp and 394 Nm of torque, providing a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 11.5 seconds. While built for durability, it remains a true off-roader equipped with a selectable 4WD system featuring Sand, On-Road, Snow, and Rock modes alongside a rear locking differential. The 244 mm ground clearance and specialized approach angles allow it to navigate technical dunes that would stop most road-biased crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat configuration is ideal for large families, featuring a dedicated rear climate zone with roof-mounted vents to ensure every passenger stays cool in 45-degree heat. The SE T2 trim includes a factory-integrated cool box in the center console, perfect for keeping drinks chilled on long drives between cities. Acoustic glass and thick insulation provide a quiet sanctuary from wind and road noise during high-speed highway cruising.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive six-airbag system, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Hill Start Assist. The SE T2 also features front and rear parking sensors paired with a high-definition rearview camera to assist in maneuvering this large SUV in tight city parking. Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) remains active to provide stability during sudden lane changes on fast-moving UAE highways.

The bottom line

This Patrol is the ideal choice for a family buyer looking for the presence and capability of a Y62 with the added luxury of a leather interior. It represents a smart opportunity to own a GCC-icon that is mechanically prepared for the region's harshest conditions.
