Summary

This 2018 Range Rover HSE represents the ideal balance of executive road presence and the legendary capability the brand is known for. With 90,000 km over 8 years, its mileage sits well below the typical GCC average, suggesting it hasn't endured the heavy cross-border commutes common in the region. The 340 hp supercharged V6 provides effortless highway overtaking while remaining more fuel-efficient for city use than the larger V8 alternatives. Finished in white, it occupies the most desirable color category for the GCC used market due to its heat-reflective properties and superior resale demand. For a buyer seeking the flagship luxury SUV experience with a proven regional track record, this GCC-spec example is a highly strategic choice.

This Car vs Other 2018 Range Rovers

With 90,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has averaged approximately 11,250 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km for luxury SUVs. This lower usage typically translates to less wear on the air suspension and cooling components, which are critical in the Gulf climate. The white exterior further enhances its value, as it remains the fastest-selling and most heat-efficient color in the UAE and Saudi markets.

HSE vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim sits above the base SE, adding features that are essential for the GCC lifestyle, including the upgraded Meridian sound system and a panoramic sunroof as standard. It also includes the 'Touch Pro Duo' twin-touchscreen interface, which provides a significantly more modern cabin feel than the single-screen units found in older or lower-spec models. You also benefit from higher-grade Windsor leather and enhanced driver assistance features like a 360-degree camera system.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the BMW X7 or Mercedes-Benz GLS focus primarily on road comfort, the Range Rover leads the segment with a massive 900 mm wading depth and a sophisticated Terrain Response system. Its aluminum monocoque construction makes it lighter and more agile than body-on-frame competitors like the Lexus LX 570, offering a more refined executive driving experience. For long-distance GCC travel, its 105-litre fuel tank provides superior range, reducing the need for frequent stops on desert highways.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.0L supercharged V6 is known for a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.7 L/100km, making it a sensible choice for Dubai or Riyadh traffic compared to the 5.0L V8. In the GCC, Land Rover recommends service intervals every 13,000 km or 12 months to account for the extreme heat and dust. Resale value for GCC-spec Range Rovers remains strong, typically depreciating at 12–15% annually, which is competitive for the European luxury segment.

Performance & Capability

The 340 hp supercharged engine delivers a top speed of 209 km/h, ensuring confident performance on fast-moving UAE highways. Its air suspension system can raise the vehicle to provide up to 297 mm of ground clearance, allowing it to navigate soft sand or rocky terrain that would stop most luxury crossovers. The permanent all-wheel-drive system works in tandem with selectable modes for sand, grass, and gravel, making it a genuine weekend adventurer.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is a sanctuary from the Gulf heat, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents. The 13-speaker Meridian audio system provides studio-quality sound, while the acoustic glass helps isolate passengers from road and wind noise during high-speed cruising. The five-seat layout offers expansive legroom and a generous 550-litre boot, perfect for family staycations or golf trips.

Safety

This HSE trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Departure Warning, which are invaluable on multi-lane highways like E11. Standard safety features include multiple airbags, Emergency Braking, and front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera view. The Terrain Response system also acts as a safety feature, automatically optimizing traction and stability control for different surfaces.

The bottom line

This is a low-mileage, GCC-spec flagship in the region's most popular color, offering a rare opportunity to own a modern-era Range Rover that has been sparingly used.
