Summary

This 2019 G63 AMG represents the highly sought-after first year of the redesigned W463A generation, offering a massive leap in cabin technology and on-road refinement over its predecessor. With 45,000 km over seven years, it sits well below the typical GCC annual mileage of 20,000 km, marking it as a low-usage example in the local market. The black-on-black color scheme remains the gold standard for resale value in the UAE, ensuring strong demand when it comes time to trade. As a Japanese regional spec, it provides a cost-effective entry into G-Wagon ownership compared to GCC-spec equivalents, though buyers should ensure the cooling system is optimized for peak UAE summer temperatures. It stands as a peerless choice for those who demand supercar acceleration in a body-on-frame SUV that commands absolute respect on the road.

This Car vs Other 2019 G63 AMGs

At 45,000 km, this vehicle has averaged approximately 6,400 km per year, which is exceptionally low compared to the 20,000–25,000 km annual average typically seen in the GCC. While many G-Wagons of this vintage have been used for cross-emirate commutes, this example's mileage suggests a life of light urban use. The black exterior is the most liquid color for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets, consistently outperforming brighter enthusiast shades at auction.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the G63 from the G500 adds the handcrafted AMG 4.0L biturbo V8, increasing output to 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque. It also replaces the standard setup with the AMG RIDE CONTROL adaptive suspension and a performance-tuned 9G-TRONIC transmission. Visual upgrades include the Panamericana grille, flared wheel arches, and the signature side-exit exhaust system that defines the G63's presence.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Range Rover Sport SVR and Porsche Cayenne Turbo, the G63 offers a unique body-on-frame construction and three mechanical locking differentials that provide superior off-road durability. It features a massive 100-litre fuel tank, providing significant range for long-distance desert highway drives between major GCC cities. The upright silhouette also provides a higher seating position and more distinctive road presence than its more aerodynamic rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 13.2 L/100km, though this increases in heavy Dubai or Riyadh traffic. As a Japanese spec car, it is eligible for servicing at high-end independent specialists across the UAE, though it lacks the official dealer warranty associated with GCC-spec cars. The G63 remains a legendary performer in terms of value retention, typically depreciating slower than almost any other luxury SUV in the region due to its iconic status and global demand.

Performance & Capability

The 585 hp V8 engine delivers a 0-100 km/h time of just 4.5 seconds, an incredible feat for a vehicle with such a rugged profile. It is equipped with a genuine low-range transfer case and 241 mm of ground clearance, making it one of the few luxury SUVs truly capable of technical desert dune driving. The independent front suspension introduced for this generation provides much-improved high-speed stability on the E11 and other major regional highways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features the WIDESCREEN Cockpit with dual 12.3-inch displays, providing modern tech tailored for the luxury buyer. Standard three-zone climate control ensures dedicated cooling for rear passengers, a vital feature for the GCC's long summer months. Extensive sound insulation and acoustic glass help keep the interior quiet during high-speed cruising, protecting occupants from the harsh outside environment and wind noise.

Safety

The 2019 G63 comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite, including Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and the Pre-Safe system. Blind Spot Assist is particularly valuable for navigating the multi-lane highways of the UAE, while Adaptive Cruise Control reduces fatigue during long cross-border drives. The vehicle also features a 360-degree camera system, which is essential for maneuvering this large SUV in tight city parking environments.

The bottom line

For the UAE buyer looking for the iconic G-Wagon presence at a more accessible price point than GCC-spec units, this low-mileage 2019 G63 AMG is a prime opportunity to own a modern automotive legend.
