Summary

This 2019 G63 AMG offers a highly sought-after entry point into the modern W463 generation, balancing the updated chassis and tech with a mileage that reflects consistent, careful use. As a Japanese-spec vehicle, it provides a significantly more accessible price point compared to local equivalents while sharing the exact same hand-built 585 hp powertrain. The black-on-black color combination remains the most liquid configuration in the UAE, ensuring strong resale demand. For the regional buyer, this example represents a sharp, mechanically sound opportunity to own a modern icon that is as comfortable on the highway as it is capable off-road. The primary ownership consideration is ensuring continued maintenance at a reputable specialist, as these engines thrive on a disciplined service regimen.

This Car vs Other 2019 G63 AMGs

With 73,720 km on the odometer, this G63 sits well below the typical GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km, positioning it as a lower-mileage example for its year. The Japanese-spec origin often indicates a life spent on well-maintained roads with strict inspection standards before arriving in the UAE. Its black exterior is a primary driver for resale value in the local market, consistently fetching higher premiums than bolder or more niche colors.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the G63 from the G500 adds the handcrafted 4.0L V8 biturbo engine, increasing output by 163 hp and adding the iconic side-exit exhaust system. This trim includes the AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension and the specialized AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system with a 40:60 rear-biased torque split for improved agility. Inside, you benefit from a Burmester surround sound system and the Widescreen Cockpit as standard, features that are highly prioritized by buyers across the Emirates.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Range Rover SVR or the Lamborghini Urus, the G63 leads with its authentic triple-locking differential hardware and a 100-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for long cross-border drives. Its upright greenhouse offers better visibility and more generous headroom than its sloping-roof competitors, making it a more practical choice for family weekend trips. The G63 holds a unique position in the GCC market, often retaining its value better than almost any other high-performance luxury SUV.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 13.2 L/100km on a combined cycle, though this can rise in the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are typically required every 15,000 km, and with one of the strongest luxury service networks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, parts and specialist technicians are readily available. While European luxury SUVs often see steep depreciation, the G63 is an outlier in the GCC, maintaining exceptional value retention even after three to five years of ownership.

Performance & Capability

The G63 delivers a blistering 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds, powered by 850 Nm of torque that makes highway overtaking effortless even at high ambient temperatures. Its off-road capability is anchored by a low-range transfer case with a 2.93:1 reduction ratio and 241 mm of ground clearance, allowing it to navigate soft sand and steep gradients with ease. The AMG Dynamic Select system offers specialized off-road modes—Sand, Trail, and Rock—to optimize the chassis for varied GCC terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is insulated with acoustic glass and features high-output air conditioning designed to maintain comfort during 45°C+ summers. The interior is finished with Nappa leather and features ventilated seats that are essential for long-distance desert drives. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated climate zones and ample legroom, ensuring the G63 remains a capable and comfortable family cruiser for trips between emirates.

Safety

Standard safety systems on this trim include Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring, which are vital for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways. The G63 is also equipped with a 360° camera system and Distance Pilot DISTRONIC, providing confidence during tight city parking and long-distance adaptive cruising.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking the presence and power of a modern G-Wagon at a more competitive price point, this well-maintained Japanese-spec example is a standout choice. Its low mileage and iconic color scheme make it a secure investment for both daily use and future resale in the GCC.
