Summary

This 2019 Nissan Patrol Safari Falcon Edition is a specialized GCC-only variant of the legendary Y61, built for enthusiasts who prioritize mechanical durability over modern complexity. The white exterior is the gold standard for resale value in the Emirates, and despite its age, this model continues to be a high-demand item due to its legendary TB48 engine. With a mileage of 162,000 km, this unit is priced as a versatile workhorse that has likely spent its time on the UAE’s expansive highways rather than just city traffic. For a GCC buyer, the most important consideration is the Y61's near-unbreakable status in extreme heat and sand, making it a favorite for desert expeditions and long-term reliability. It offers a raw, authentic driving experience that modern SUVs simply cannot replicate.

This Car vs Other 2019 Patrols

At 162,000 km, this Patrol reflects a typical annual usage of roughly 32,000 km, which is standard for a vehicle often utilized for long-distance highway travel across the GCC. While higher than some city-bound crossovers, these engines are famous for reaching 400,000 km with ease. The white paint is the strongest possible color for retaining value and managing heat in the local market.

FALCON EDITION vs Lower Trims

The Falcon Edition adds a distinct visual and functional package over the standard Safari, including a signature LED beam light bar integrated into a chrome front bumper and a tailgate-mounted jerry can holder. Inside, you get premium tan leather seats featuring the Falcon logo and the highly coveted refrigerated cooler box, which is essential for UAE summers.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol Y61 leads rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser 70-series by offering a more comfortable coil-spring suspension and a more powerful 4.8L inline-six engine. Its primary advantage is the massive 175-litre total fuel capacity (main and sub-tank), providing a cruising range for long desert trips that most modern competitors cannot match without modifications.

Running Costs & Resale

In GCC stop-start traffic and heavy desert use, real-world fuel consumption averages between 17 and 19 L/100km, utilizing standard Special 95 petrol. Nissan’s service network is one of the most robust in the region, with parts readily available in every Emirate and across the borders in Saudi Arabia and Oman. The Y61 generation enjoys a cult-like following, resulting in a depreciation curve that flattens significantly after the five-year mark, ensuring excellent value retention.

Performance & Capability

The TB48DE engine produces a robust 452 Nm of torque, which is delivered low in the rev range to help the vehicle climb steep dunes without stalling. The 5-speed automatic transmission is paired with a manual-shift transfer case, allowing for on-the-fly transitions between 2WD and 4WD. Its heavy-duty body-on-frame construction and solid axles provide the structural integrity needed for serious off-roading.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the Gulf climate, featuring a high-output manual air conditioning system with dedicated rear cooling vents to ensure all passengers remain comfortable in 45°C heat. The five-seat layout provides an expansive cargo area with side-hinged 'barn doors' for easy access to gear. Tan leather upholstery and wood-grain trim pieces provide a classic, rugged aesthetic that remains a favorite among local drivers.

Safety

Safety features on this trim include dual front airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) to assist with stability on loose surfaces. The inclusion of a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is particularly useful for GCC drivers who frequently air down for desert driving and need to monitor pressures when returning to the highway.

The bottom line

For the desert enthusiast or long-distance commuter, this Falcon Edition offers the perfect blend of legendary durability and unique GCC styling in a highly sought-after white specification.
