Summary

This 2019 Teramont offers a balanced opportunity for families in the UAE, pairing a spacious 7-seat configuration with a proven 6-cylinder powertrain. Silver remains one of the highest-demand resale colors in the region, offering excellent heat reflection and long-term value retention. With mileage sitting right at the typical GCC average for its age, this SUV provides the cabin volume of a much larger vehicle while remaining easy to maneuver in city traffic. It is an ideal pick for those who need genuine adult occupancy in the third row without moving to a full-size truck-based platform. The 4Motion all-wheel-drive system ensures confidence during weekend wadi drives or sudden desert rainstorms.

This Car vs Other 2019 Teramonts

With approximately 104,000 km, this vehicle aligns perfectly with the standard GCC usage pattern of 20,000–25,000 km per year, suggesting it has been used primarily for routine commuting and family duties. The Silver exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, as it hides dust well and is statistically easier to resell than bolder colors. This specific example represents the sweet spot of the model's lifecycle, benefiting from the initial depreciation hit while maintaining the modern tech of the first generation.

SE vs Lower Trims

Choosing the SE trim over the base S variant adds critical comfort features that are highly valued in the GCC, including V-Tex leatherette seating and an upgraded 8-inch Composition Media touchscreen. It also introduces the Kessy keyless entry and push-button start system, along with crucial driver aids like blind-spot monitoring and a rear-view camera with dynamic guidance. These additions make the SE a significantly more premium daily experience for both the driver and passengers.

Teramont vs Segment Rivals

The Teramont stands out against rivals like the Honda Pilot and Ford Explorer by offering a class-leading wheelbase, which translates to superior legroom in the second and third rows. While the Explorer leans toward turbocharged power, the Teramont’s naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 is preferred by many GCC owners for its linear power delivery and mechanical simplicity in high heat. Its 2,741 liters of total cargo capacity with seats folded also outperforms most competitors in this price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L V6 delivers a combined fuel consumption of approximately 11.7 L/100km, which is competitive for a heavy 7-seat SUV in GCC stop-start traffic. Maintenance is straightforward thanks to Volkswagen's extensive service network across the UAE and neighboring countries, with minor service intervals typically occurring every 15,000 km. While European SUVs generally depreciate faster than Japanese rivals, the Teramont has shown better-than-average value retention in the UAE due to its massive cabin space and strong brand presence.

Performance & Capability

The 3.6L V6 engine provides 280 hp (verified for this GCC specification), allowing for a respectable 0–100 km/h sprint in 8.2 seconds. This power is managed by a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission and the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, which features selectable modes for On-road, Snow, and Off-road conditions. While not a hardcore desert basher, it is perfectly suited for beach trips, gravel tracks, and providing a stable, comfortable cruise at 140 km/h on the E11 highway.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Teramont is designed for the GCC climate with a powerful three-zone Climatronic AC system that ensures rear passengers stay cool even in 45°C+ summer heat. The innovative one-handed folding mechanism for the second row allows easy access to the back, where even adults will find sufficient headroom. Acoustic glass helps maintain a quiet environment during long interstate drives, while the 17 integrated cupholders highlight the vehicle's focus on family logistics.

Safety

Standard safety for this trim is comprehensive, featuring six airbags and a rigid safety cage designed to deflect energy during an impact. GCC drivers will benefit significantly from the integrated Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which are essential for navigating busy multi-lane highways. Additionally, the Multi-Collision Brake system and Front Assist with Emergency Braking provide an extra layer of protection in fast-moving Dubai or Riyadh traffic.

The bottom line

This Teramont SE is the ideal solution for a growing family that needs maximum interior space and German engineering without the premium price tag of a luxury brand. It is a well-maintained, GCC-spec workhorse in a resale-friendly color, ready for the next five years of school runs and weekend road trips.
