Summary

This 2020 Land Rover Defender 110 First Edition P400 is a standout choice for those seeking the ultimate balance of modern capability and iconic design. With the potent 400 hp mild-hybrid inline-six, it offers effortless highway overtaking and reliable power for weekend desert escapes. As a First Edition, it comes loaded with premium features often missing on base trims, ensuring a high level of comfort in the heat of the GCC summer. The Green exterior is a signature look that retains strong appeal in the local used market, while the P400 powertrain remains one of the most sought-after configurations for its refinement. This is a versatile, high-spec SUV that bridges the gap between daily luxury and genuine off-road exploration.

This Car vs Other 2020 Defender 110s

With 124,000 km, this Defender has been driven approximately 31,000 km per year, which is slightly above the typical GCC average for luxury SUVs but consistent with vehicles used for inter-emirate highway commuting. The Green exterior is a classic heritage-inspired color that consistently commands high interest and strong resale value in the UAE market. Being an American spec model, buyers should verify service history compatibility, though parts availability for this generation is excellent across the region.

FIRST EDITION P400 vs Lower Trims

The First Edition P400 is a significant step up from the base P300, providing the smoother and more powerful 3.0L inline-six mild-hybrid engine. It adds critical GCC comforts as standard, including the sliding panoramic roof, the 400W Meridian sound system, and the ClearSight interior rearview mirror. Unlike the S or SE trims, the First Edition also includes the high-resolution 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display and premium LED headlights with signature DRLs.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

The Defender 110 leads rivals like the Jeep Wrangler and Toyota Land Cruiser 300 in terms of on-road refinement and cabin technology while maintaining a class-leading 900 mm wading depth. Its monocoque architecture provides superior highway stability during long hauls from Dubai to Abu Dhabi compared to traditional body-on-frame competitors. The 90-litre fuel tank ensures significant cruising range, a major advantage for cross-border GCC road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

The P400 mild-hybrid engine averages a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.7 L/100km, which is competitive for a vehicle of this size in stop-start city traffic. Service intervals for Land Rover in the GCC are typically every 13,000 km or 12 months, supported by a widespread network of authorized centers in major cities like Dubai, Riyadh, and Muscat. The Defender 110 has shown exceptional value retention since its launch, with the First Edition trim specifically benefiting from its 'launch year' collectible status.

Performance & Capability

The P400 powertrain delivers a verified 0–100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds, providing plenty of punch for overtaking on fast-moving highways. Its maximum ground clearance of 291 mm is achieved via the standard Electronic Air Suspension, allowing it to clear obstacles that would stop most luxury crossovers. The Terrain Response 2 system automatically optimizes the AWD hardware for sand, rock, or mud, making it a highly capable partner for desert camping and mountain trails.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat layout offers generous legroom and a massive 1,075-litre cargo capacity with the rear seats in place. The cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a high-performance air conditioning system and durable materials like Grained Leather with Woven Textile facings. Technology highlights include the Pivi Pro infotainment system with permanent internet connectivity and a cooled center console to keep drinks chilled during long summer drives.

Safety

This trim features a comprehensive safety suite including a 360° Surround Camera with 3D perspective, which is invaluable for both tight city parking and navigating off-road trails. Standard ADAS features include Blind Spot Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control, providing peace of mind on high-speed multi-lane highways. The vehicle is also equipped with six airbags and Wade Sensing technology to monitor water depth in real-time.

The bottom line

Perfect for the adventurous family or executive, this high-spec First Edition offers the most refined engine option and premium features in a heritage color that holds its value.
