Nissan Patrol SE PLATINUM CITY

Highlights

• 275 hp from a 4.0L V6
• 13-speaker Bose audio system standard
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 6-year-old Patrol sits at 122,000 km, which is almost exactly the expected average for a family SUV in the GCC market where long-distance travel is standard. The white exterior is the most popular choice in the region, ensuring maximum heat reflection and a much easier resale process when the time comes to upgrade. As a Platinum City trim, you're getting the high-tier luxury equipment usually reserved for V8 models but with the lower registration and insurance costs of the V6. This model remains the definitive GCC workhorse, offering a perfect balance between high-speed highway refinement and genuine weekend off-road capability. For any buyer looking for a reliable 8-seater that holds its value better than almost anything else on the road, this is a calculated and secure choice.

This Car vs Other 2020 Patrols

With 122,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven approximately 20,300 km per year, which is comfortably within the average 20,000–25,000 km range for GCC-owned SUVs. The white exterior is a strategic advantage in the local market, as it is the highest-demand color for resale and effectively manages cabin temperatures during peak summer. Compared to many higher-mileage examples used for heavy desert bashing, this unit presents as a well-maintained family vehicle.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The Platinum City trim is a significant leap over the SE Titanium and XE base models, adding the premium 13-speaker Bose audio system and the 360-degree Around View Monitor which is essential for parking a vehicle of this size. It also features a power tailgate, a refrigerator in the center console, and dual rear entertainment screens to keep passengers comfortable on long drives between emirates. Unlike lower trims, you also get ventilated seats, a critical comfort feature for the local climate.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

While the Toyota Land Cruiser and Chevrolet Tahoe are its primary rivals, the Patrol leads in ride comfort thanks to its sophisticated independent rear suspension. It offers more interior width and a more premium cabin feel than the Land Cruiser 300's base variants, making it a favorite for large families. The 140-liter total fuel capacity (main and sub-tank) provides a significant range advantage for long cross-border drives compared to many American rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is remarkably reliable and avoids the higher maintenance costs of turbochargers, with real-world fuel consumption averaging 14–16 L/100km in mixed GCC driving. Nissan has one of the largest authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and easily accessible. Historically, the Patrol retains roughly 60–65% of its value after three years in the GCC, outperforming almost all European competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 275 hp V6 is paired with a smooth 7-speed automatic transmission that is tuned for highway cruising and city stop-start traffic. It features a genuine low-range transfer case and selectable driving modes (Sand, On-Road, Rock, and Snow), making it as capable in the Liwa dunes as it is on the E11 highway. With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, it easily handles boat trailers or camping gear for weekend adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

This 8-seater configuration offers generous legroom across all three rows, with the Platinum City trim providing quilted leather upholstery for an elevated feel. The air conditioning system is legendary in the region, featuring roof-mounted vents for all three rows to ensure rapid cooling even when ambient temperatures exceed 45°C. Acoustic glass and thick insulation minimize road noise, maintaining a quiet environment for the premium Bose sound system.

Safety

Standard safety tech on this trim includes Nissan's Intelligent Mobility suite with Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are vital for multi-lane highway driving. It is equipped with a full set of airbags including side-curtain protection for all three rows, alongside Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning. The 360-degree camera system provides a bird's-eye view, making navigating tight urban parking spots and sandy tracks much safer.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a family buyer who wants the prestigious Platinum look and features without the V8 fuel bill, backed by the best resale security in the Middle East.
