Highlights

• Naturally aspirated 4.8-litre inline-six
• 135-litre total fuel capacity with sub-tank
• Body-on-frame construction

Summary

This Nissan Patrol Super Safari is a rare manual-transmission find in a market dominated by automatics, making it a prized choice for serious off-road enthusiasts. With 88,000 km, its mileage is significantly lower than the GCC average for a four-year-old vehicle, suggesting careful use rather than heavy cross-border commuting. The white exterior is the region's strongest resale color, ensuring high liquidity and value retention when you decide to upgrade. As a Super Safari trim, it blends the legendary 'unbreakable' mechanical soul of the Y61 generation with modern cabin comforts that the base Safari lacks. It represents a final opportunity to own a manual version of an automotive icon that has since transitioned to more complex, automatic-only powertrains.

This Car vs Other 2020 Patrols

At 88,000 km, this vehicle has covered roughly 22,000 km per year, which is below the typical GCC average of 25,000 km for large SUVs. The 5-speed manual gearbox makes this listing far rarer than the common automatic versions, often commanding a premium among desert driving purists. Its white paint is the most thermally efficient and resale-friendly color for the Middle Eastern climate.

Super Safari vs Lower Trims

The Super Safari trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base Safari or GL trims by adding a premium tan leather interior and a more advanced infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. It also features functional off-road upgrades like a rear differential lock and an electric front winch, which are often absent or optional on lower trims. Visual identifiers like the machine-cut 17-inch black alloy wheels and iconic side decals further distinguish this top-tier model.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Against the Toyota Land Cruiser LC70, the Patrol Super Safari offers a more refined cabin with seven seats and superior highway manners while matching its rival's legendary off-road reliability. Its 135-litre dual-tank system provides a much longer cruising range than the Jeep Wrangler, making it the preferred choice for long-distance desert expeditions. The 4.8L inline-six engine is celebrated for its mid-range torque, which excels in soft sand where smaller V6 rivals often struggle.

Running Costs & Resale

The TB48 engine is built for durability rather than fuel economy, typically averaging between 16 and 18 L/100 km in mixed GCC driving conditions. Maintenance is simplified by a vast authorized service network across the UAE and KSA, with standard minor service intervals every 10,000 km. The Y61 platform is famous for its slow depreciation, often retaining 65-75% of its value after three to four years, making it one of the safest automotive investments in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 280 hp naturally aspirated inline-six is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, offering direct control that is essential for technical dune climbing and heavy towing. Its heavy-duty 4WD system includes a low-range transfer case and a rear locking differential for maximum traction in extreme terrain. With a robust body-on-frame chassis and solid axles, it handles the mechanical stress of desert weekends and rocky wadis with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

Despite its rugged exterior, the Super Safari features a comfortable tan leather cabin with three-row seating for seven passengers. The GCC-spec air conditioning system is exceptionally powerful, featuring dedicated rear vents to maintain cooling during peak summer temperatures. The interior is practical for family use, featuring a cooled center console box and wood-grain trim that adds a touch of classic executive style to the durable dashboard.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes dual front airbags and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for controlled stopping on unpredictable surfaces. It is equipped with Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which are vital for safety during high-speed highway travel between Emirates. The solid steel construction and side-impact door beams provide a rugged safety shell that has been proven over decades of use in the region.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to secure a low-mileage, manual Super Safari in the best resale color, perfect for the purist who wants an unbreakable desert legend with modern cabin features.
