Summary

This Nissan Patrol LE Platinum City offers the ideal balance of luxury and legendary durability, making it a premier choice in the GCC market. With the powerful 5.6-litre V8, it delivers effortless performance for both high-speed highway cruising and demanding desert terrain. The Grey exterior is a highly practical and respected resale choice across the region, while the Platinum City trim ensures every modern convenience is included. As a GCC-spec vehicle with proven reliability, this SUV remains the benchmark for family comfort and long-term value retention in the Middle East.

This Car vs Other 2021 Patrols

With approximately 107,000 km, this vehicle sits at a standard usage level for the GCC, where annual averages typically reach 25,000 km. It represents a balanced opportunity, having moved past its initial steep depreciation phase while retaining its mechanical integrity. The Grey finish is one of the most resilient colors for local weather, resisting the visible effects of dust and heat while maintaining strong demand in the used market.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum City trim is the definitive luxury specification, adding essential GCC comforts that the Titanium and SE trims lack. Key upgrades include ventilated and heated front seats, diamond-quilted premium leather, and the 13-speaker Bose surround sound system. It also features the Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) system, which significantly improves stability on fast highway curves and comfort over rough desert tracks.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol leads rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser in cabin technology and on-road ride quality, particularly with its sophisticated dual-screen infotainment setup. Its 140-litre fuel tank capacity is a major advantage for long-distance drives across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, offering superior range between stops. Additionally, the Patrol provides more generous third-row legroom, making it a more practical choice for large families compared to most European luxury SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 typically averages between 16–18 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though long highway stretches can see better efficiency. Nissan’s extensive authorized service network across all seven Emirates and the wider GCC ensures parts are always available and maintenance is straightforward. The Patrol historically enjoys some of the highest resale values in the region, typically retaining 70-75% of its value after three years.

Performance & Capability

The 5.6-litre V8 produces 400 hp and 560 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h time of approximately 6.6 seconds—a remarkable figure for a vehicle of this size. Its All-Mode 4WD system includes specialized settings for sand, rock, and snow, supported by a heavy-duty low-range transfer case for serious off-roading. With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, it is equally capable of hauling boats or trailers for weekend adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary designed for the Middle Eastern climate, featuring a high-output tri-zone climate control system and a factory-integrated cooling box in the center console. The 7-seat layout is finished in premium quilted leather, with the front seats offering both heating and ventilation for summer comfort. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated entertainment screens and independent air vents, ensuring luxury is felt in every row during long cross-country drives.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with Nissan’s full Intelligent Mobility suite, which is vital for safety on high-speed regional highways. Standard features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning, and Lane Intervention, alongside a 360° Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection. These active systems work together with the vehicle's robust frame and comprehensive airbag suite to provide maximum protection for all seven occupants.

The bottom line

This Patrol is the perfect fit for a GCC buyer who refuses to choose between executive luxury and genuine desert capability. It offers the most sought-after V8 powertrain in a premium trim that holds its value better than almost any other vehicle in the segment.
