Summary

This 2022 Wildtrak presents a rare opportunity in the GCC market, combining the most desirable off-road hardware with the practical four-door configuration. At four years old, its mileage reflects a vehicle that has been enjoyed for long-distance cruising across the Emirates rather than just short city bursts, which is ideal for the mechanical health of the twin-turbo V6. The Black exterior is one of the highest-retaining resale colors in the region, ensuring strong value when you eventually decide to upgrade. Built for those who want Raptor-level capability in a more manageable footprint, this Bronco stands out with its standard Sasquatch package and high-clearance suspension. For a GCC buyer, the peace of mind coming from a regional spec vehicle with a robust local parts network is the definitive advantage.

This Car vs Other 2022 Broncos

With 78,538 km on the odometer, this Bronco sits near the expected average for a four-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where annual distances often reach 20,000 km due to highway-heavy commutes between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The Black finish is a significant asset here, consistently ranking as a top-three resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets. While many base models are available, finding a Wildtrak with the full factory off-road kit ensures you aren't paying extra for aftermarket modifications that can void warranties.

Wildtrak vs Lower Trims

The Wildtrak serves as the off-road peak of the standard Bronco lineup, adding the Sasquatch Package as standard equipment, which includes 35-inch mud-terrain tires and beadlock-capable wheels that lower trims like the Outer Banks lack. It features the HOSS 2.0 suspension system with Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, providing a level of high-speed desert stability that the standard-duty suspension cannot match. Crucially for the GCC, it also includes the advanced 4x4 system with automatic on-demand engagement and front and rear electronic locking differentials.

Bronco vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the Bronco offers a significantly more refined highway experience thanks to its independent front suspension, which eliminates the 'wandering' steering feel common on long desert roads. It leads the Toyota FJ Cruiser in modern cabin technology and safety suites, offering a much larger infotainment display and 360-degree camera availability. The turbocharged V6 provides superior low-end torque for sand dune climbing compared to the naturally aspirated engines found in traditional Japanese rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.7L twin-turbo V6 typically returns a combined fuel consumption of approximately 13.9 L/100km, which is competitive for a heavy-duty 4x4 in GCC stop-start traffic. Ford’s authorized service network is well-established across all major GCC cities, with standard service intervals usually occurring every 10,000 km or 6 months. GCC-spec Broncos retain their value exceptionally well, with recent market data suggesting a depreciation rate of only 12–15% annually, outperforming many European luxury SUVs in the local used market.

Performance & Capability

The twin-turbocharged V6 delivers 330 hp and a massive 563 Nm of torque when using premium fuel, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in roughly 7.0 seconds. Its off-road prowess is anchored by 295 mm of ground clearance and a factory-rated 850 mm wading depth, making it one of the few vehicles truly ready for deep-wadi exploration. The selectable G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Type of terrain) modes include specific settings for Sand and Baja, optimized for the unique demands of the Arabian Peninsula's landscape.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Wildtrak balances ruggedness with comfort, featuring dual-zone electronic climate control that is essential for maintaining a cool cabin during the peak GCC summer. The five-seat layout provides generous legroom for family road trips, while the sound-deadening headliner helps insulate the interior from heat and road noise. Technology is front and center with the SYNC 4 system, offering wireless smartphone integration and a large digital cockpit that stays visible even in direct desert sunlight.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, which is particularly valuable on fast-moving UAE highways, including features like Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and Cross-Traffic Alert. It also includes Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane-Keeping System to ensure safety during long-distance travel. The standard 360-degree camera provides excellent visibility when navigating tight parking spaces in the city or technical obstacles off-road.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Wildtrak is the perfect match for the enthusiast who needs a daily-drivable SUV that can conquer the Big Red dunes on the weekend without compromise. It represents the sweet spot of the Bronco range, offering the best factory off-road hardware in a high-resale color and a mechanically sound four-door package.
