Summary

This 2023 Defender 110 525 Edition brings the formidable 5.0-litre supercharged V8 to a platform known for its rugged versatility. Finished in White, the most preferred resale color in the GCC, this European-spec SUV offers a performance profile that stands well above the standard P400 and P300 variants. With 525 hp on tap, it bridges the gap between a hardcore off-roader and a high-performance luxury cruiser, making it ideal for fast highway transits between emirates. For a buyer looking to balance iconic design with serious mechanical muscle, this supercharged flagship represents the peak of the modern Defender line.

This Car vs Other 2023 Defender 110s

While many 2023 models in the GCC market carry the 3.0-litre P400 engine, this 525 Edition features the high-output supercharged V8. Its white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, offering the best heat reflection and highest resale liquidity. The European specification ensures a high level of interior finish, though buyers should verify service compatibility with local GCC authorized centers.

525 EDITION vs Lower Trims

The 525 Edition (P525) adds significant mechanical and luxury upgrades over the X-Dynamic and SE trims, most notably the Electronic Active Rear Differential and Terrain Response 2 with a dedicated Dynamic Program. Inside, it receives premium upgrades including the ClearSight interior rear-view mirror, three-zone climate control with rear cooling assist—essential for the GCC summer—and the high-output Meridian Surround Sound System as standard.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

The Defender 110 V8 competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG and the BMW X7 M60i. It leads the segment in off-road geometry with a massive 900mm wading depth and adjustable air suspension that provides up to 291mm of ground clearance. While rivals focus on track-day performance or pure luxury, the Defender remains the superior choice for weekend desert expeditions without sacrificing sub-6 second highway acceleration.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.0L supercharged V8 typically averages 14.7L/100km, reflecting its performance-oriented tuning. In the GCC, Land Rover parts are widely available through authorized distributors and specialist networks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The V8 variants historically retain their value better than the four-cylinder models, benefiting from a niche enthusiast market that values the discontinued supercharged engine character.

Performance & Capability

Generating 525 hp and 625 Nm of torque, this SUV achieves a manufacturer-rated top speed of 240 km/h. The Electronic Air Suspension allows the vehicle to transition from a composed highway cruiser to a dominant off-roader at the touch of a button. Its 3,720 kg towing capacity is class-leading, making it highly capable for hauling large marine craft or desert trailers across the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed for long-distance comfort, featuring three-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool during peak summer. The 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen provides seamless navigation across the GCC, while the cabin air purification system helps filter out fine desert dust. Quad outboard exhausts provide a distinctive acoustic signature that defines the V8 ownership experience.

Safety

This trim includes a comprehensive safety suite featuring a 360-degree surround camera system, which is invaluable for both tight urban parking and navigating tricky dune crests. Standard ADAS features include Blind Spot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control, providing essential support during high-speed highway commutes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The ultra-rigid aluminum unibody architecture provides a stable and secure platform for all occupants.

The bottom line

This 525 Edition is the perfect choice for the enthusiast who demands G-Wagon levels of power with superior modern ergonomics and genuine desert capability. As a V8 flagship in a high-demand color, it offers a rare opportunity to own the most powerful iteration of the Defender 110.
