Summary

This 2024 Land Rover Defender 110 HSE P400 is a premier choice for the GCC, balancing elite off-road hardware with refined executive comfort. Powered by the 400 hp mild-hybrid straight-six, it offers the effortless highway overtaking and desert torque that defines the modern Defender experience. Finished in black, the most sought-after resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, this example maintains a commanding presence on both city boulevards and remote dunes. While the mileage reflects active use, the vehicle’s mechanical pedigree and GCC-specific cooling systems ensure it remains perfectly suited for the region's demanding summer temperatures. For the buyer seeking a versatile daily driver that transitions seamlessly into a weekend explorer, this HSE trim represents a high-spec opportunity in the current market.

This Car vs Other 2024 Defender 110s

With 65,784 km, this Defender has been consistently driven, yet remains well within the expected durability cycle for a Land Rover in the GCC, where highway-heavy commutes are standard. Its black exterior is a primary value driver in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention than more niche colors. In a market where many listings are base models, this P400 HSE stands out for its superior engine output and interior refinement.

HSE P400 vs Lower Trims

The HSE P400 trim significantly elevates the ownership experience over the base S and SE trims by adding ventilated 14-way power seats, which are essential for GCC summers. It also features the 700W Meridian Surround Sound system and premium Windsor leather, alongside the more powerful 3.0L inline-six engine. These additions make the HSE the preferred choice for buyers who prioritize long-distance cabin comfort and premium audio quality.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

The Defender 110 leads rivals like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in genuine off-road capability, offering a superior 900 mm wading depth and advanced Terrain Response 2 hardware. For GCC families, its air suspension provides a level of ride height adjustability and desert clearance that road-biased luxury crossovers cannot match. While competitors focus on paved performance, the Defender offers a 3,493 kg towing capacity, making it the more versatile tool for regional weekend adventures.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the P400 averages approximately 12.8 L/100km, performing efficiently on long stretches of the E11 or E311 highways due to its mild-hybrid assistance. Authorized service centers are widely available across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait, with recommended service intervals occurring every 13,000 km or 12 months. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a significant price premium and faster liquidity compared to American or European imports in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The P400 powertrain delivers 400 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enabling a swift 0–100 km/h time of 6.9 seconds for rapid highway merging. Its electronic air suspension can raise the vehicle to provide up to 291 mm of ground clearance, critical for navigating soft sand or rocky wadis. The twin-speed transfer case with low-range gearing ensures that this luxury SUV is a genuine 4x4, capable of handling the toughest desert terrain the region has to offer.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed for the Gulf climate, featuring a high-capacity air conditioning system with dedicated vents and standard ventilated front seats to combat extreme heat. The 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen is intuitive and responsive, paired with a digital cockpit that keeps all essential navigation data in the driver's line of sight. Acoustic glass and premium cabin insulation provide a quiet, chilled sanctuary even during high-speed travel across the desert.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on the HSE trim, featuring a 3D Surround Camera system that provides 360-degree visibility for both tight city parking and technical off-roading. Standard ADAS features include Blind Spot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control, which are vital for safety on high-speed multi-lane GCC highways. Lane Keep Assist and Emergency Braking provide additional peace of mind for family use in busy metropolitan traffic.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Defender 110 HSE is the ideal match for an executive or family looking for a high-status SUV that actually delivers on its promise of desert capability. Its black-on-black aesthetic and high trim level make it a secure investment in one of the region's most popular automotive segments.
