Summary

This 2023 Nissan Patrol SE Platinum City is a premier choice for those seeking a modern, high-spec SUV that balances luxury with legendary reliability. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is purpose-built to handle the region's extreme heat and vast distances with ease, finished in high-resale White. While the mileage reflects active use typical for long-range highway commuting in the region, the V6 powertrain is renowned for its longevity and simpler maintenance compared to more complex rivals. This trim level bridges the gap between rugged utility and executive comfort, offering a feature-rich interior that remains a benchmark for large families across the Gulf.

This Car vs Other 2023 Nissan Patrols

With 147,000 km, this vehicle has seen higher-than-average use compared to the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual GCC benchmark, yet it benefits from being a very recent model year with updated tech. The White exterior remains the most sought-after color for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets, providing a clear advantage when it comes time to trade. Its mechanical simplicity as a V6 makes it a robust long-term prospect even with higher mileage.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The SE Platinum City is a significant step up from the SE Titanium and SE T2, most notably adding swankier 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and premium quilted leather seats. Unlike lower trims, this version includes ventilated front seats and a power-adjustable steering column with memory, features that are essential for maintaining comfort during the peak GCC summer. You also gain the Intelligent Around View Monitor with moving object detection, which is vital for maneuvering a vehicle of this size.

Nissan Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol is frequently cross-shopped with the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Chevrolet Tahoe. It leads the segment in terms of interior plushness and tech-for-money, offering a more comfortable highway ride than the standard Land Cruiser 300 V6. Its 140-litre fuel tank provides a massive driving range, a distinct advantage over many American rivals for long-distance travel between emirates or across borders.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 typically averages between 14 and 16 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though steady highway cruising can see this drop closer to 12 L/100km. Nissan boasts one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. The Patrol retains its value exceptionally well, typically seeing only 8–10% annual depreciation, making it one of the safest automotive investments in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 275 hp V6 engine is paired with a smooth 7-speed automatic transmission, delivering steady power that is more than capable for daily school runs and desert weekend excursions. With a 273 mm ground clearance and a selectable All-Wheel Drive system, it handles soft sand and rugged wadis with the confidence the 'Hero of All Terrains' is famous for. While it prioritizes smoothness over raw acceleration, the torque is well-optimized for overtaking on high-speed highways.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the SE Platinum City offers a cavernous 8-seat layout with dedicated rear climate control vents to ensure every passenger stays cool in 45°C+ temperatures. The cabin is insulated with high-quality acoustic materials to minimize wind noise during fast highway drives, while the Bose 13-speaker audio system provides premium sound. The refrigerator in the center console is a standard luxury that GCC owners find indispensable for keeping drinks cold during long family trips.

Safety

This trim features a full suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, including Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Blind Spot Intervention, which are highly effective for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic. Standard safety is bolstered by a 360° camera system that provides a bird's-eye view, making parking in tight urban spaces much simpler. The vehicle also includes a comprehensive airbag system and ISOFIX points, cementing its status as a top-tier family safety choice.

The bottom line

For the buyer who needs a late-model, flagship-spec SUV with a proven service history and high resale potential, this Platinum City edition offers the perfect balance of luxury and GCC-hardened durability.
