Nissan Patrol SE PLATINUM CITY

Highlights

• 275 hp from a 4.0-litre V6 engine
• 140-litre fuel tank standard
• 3,500 kg braked towing capacity

Summary

This 2023 Nissan Patrol SE Platinum City is a standout choice in the GCC market, offering the prestige of the 'Platinum City' trim with the more efficient V6 engine. With 85,000 km over three years, its mileage is exactly in line with the typical 25,000–30,000 km annual usage for large SUVs in the UAE, indicating a well-utilized but properly maintained vehicle. The white exterior is the premier resale color for the Patrol, ensuring it holds its value better than almost any other vehicle in its class. As the highest tier of the SE range, it bridges the gap between rugged utility and executive luxury without the higher running costs of the V8. For a GCC buyer, this represents the sweet spot of the Patrol lineup—unrivaled road presence and desert capability with a feature list that rivals many luxury sedans.

This Car vs Other 2023 Patrols

With 85,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven roughly 28,000 km per year, which is average for a primary family SUV in the GCC. While higher than global averages, this is standard for the region's long-distance highway commutes between emirates. The white exterior is a massive advantage at resale, as it is the most sought-after color in the local market due to its heat-reflective properties.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The Platinum City trim is a significant jump over the SE Titanium, adding the high-tech 'City Bumper' for a more sophisticated look and the 360-degree Around View Monitor. Inside, you move from basic synthetic materials to premium quilted leather and a Bose premium audio system. Crucially for the GCC, it also includes ventilated front seats and a cooled center console box, features often missing on entry-level SE models.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol leads the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 in fuel capacity with its massive 140-litre tank, offering superior range for trans-GCC road trips. Compared to the Ford Expedition or GMC Yukon, the Patrol offers a traditional body-on-frame durability and a more extensive service network that reaches even the most remote areas of the Saudi or Omani desert. Its cabin cooling system is widely regarded as one of the most powerful in the segment, a vital factor for August in the Gulf.

Running Costs & Resale

The V6 powertrain offers a balanced fuel consumption of approximately 11.8L/100km on the highway, though GCC stop-start traffic will see this rise to 16–18L/100km. Being a GCC-spec Nissan, it benefits from the region's strongest service network with authorized centers in every major city from Riyadh to Kuwait City. The Patrol typically retains 85% of its value after the first year and maintains a slow, predictable depreciation of 8–10% annually thereafter, making it a safe financial asset.

Performance & Capability

The 4.0L V6 produces 275 hp and 394 Nm of torque, providing reliable power for highway overtaking and sand dune navigation. It features a dedicated low-range transfer case and selectable drive modes (Sand, On-road, Rock, Snow) that make it a true dual-purpose vehicle. The 3,500 kg towing capacity ensures it can easily handle large boat trailers or camper vans common for weekend getaways at Jebel Jais or Al Qudra.

Comfort & Cabin

This 7-seater configuration provides a genuinely usable third row, supported by a dual-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents that maintain ice-cold temperatures even in 45°C heat. The 'Platinum City' interior features a dual-screen infotainment setup with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Acoustic glass and thick insulation keep the cabin remarkably quiet, shielding passengers from both desert wind noise and city traffic.

Safety

Standard safety on this trim includes the full Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite, featuring Intelligent Cruise Control for long highway stretches and Blind Spot Warning for busy multi-lane roads. It is equipped with front, side, and curtain airbags, along with an Around View Monitor that provides a 360-degree bird's-eye view, essential for parking such a large vehicle in tight urban spaces. The Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking provide an extra layer of protection during sudden highway slowdowns.

The bottom line

This listing is the ideal choice for a family buyer who wants the premium 'Platinum' lifestyle and legendary Patrol reliability without the V8's fuel bill. It is a highly liquid asset in the UAE market that offers the perfect balance of luxury, space, and off-road heritage.
