Summary

This 2024 Nissan Patrol LE T2 represents a unique opportunity to own a nearly-new example of the GCC’s most iconic SUV. Despite the higher mileage for its age, this vehicle has clearly been utilized for the long-distance highway cruising it was engineered to dominate across the Emirates. Finished in white, the most desirable and high-resale color in the regional market, this SUV offers immediate availability without the waiting lists often associated with new showroom units. The 5.6L V8 powertrain is legendary for its durability in extreme heat, making it a safer long-term investment than smaller-displacement turbocharged rivals. For a buyer looking for a modern, high-trim family hauler that holds its value better than almost any other vehicle on the road, this GCC-spec powerhouse is an exceptional choice. It stands out in the market as a rugged yet sophisticated 8-seater that transitions perfectly from city commutes to weekend desert expeditions.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

While most 2024 models in the secondary market might show lower odometer readings, the 116,200 km on this vehicle indicates it has been a reliable companion for extensive regional travel, likely between major GCC hubs like Dubai and Riyadh. In the GCC context, high mileage on a late-model Nissan often points to well-maintained highway kilometers rather than strenuous city idling or harsh off-road abuse. This specific car benefits from being the LE T2 trim, which is a significant step up in interior quality and technology compared to the more common XE or SE variants found in rental fleets. The white exterior is a massive advantage for resale, as it remains the most sought-after color in the Middle East for its heat-reflective properties and ease of maintenance. Choosing this vehicle over a lower-mileage base model allows the buyer to enjoy premium V8 performance and luxury features at a more accessible entry point for the 2024 model year. It is a mechanically proven example that has already demonstrated its capability to handle the rigors of intensive daily use in the desert climate.

LE T2 vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the LE T2 trim transforms the ownership experience by adding several high-value features that GCC buyers prioritize for comfort and prestige. Unlike the V6-powered SE trims, the LE T2 comes equipped with the formidable 5.6L V8 engine, providing the effortless torque required for overtaking on fast-moving highways and climbing dunes. Inside, the T2 package introduces a more refined cabin environment with upgraded upholstery and a superior infotainment interface that supports modern connectivity. One of the most critical additions for the local climate is the enhanced climate control system and the inclusion of more sophisticated driver assistance technologies like a 360-degree camera system, which makes parking this large SUV in tight city malls much simpler. You also gain stylish 20-inch alloy wheels that give the vehicle a more commanding presence on the road compared to the 18-inch wheels found on entry-level models. This trim strikes the perfect balance for the family buyer who wants the status and power of the LE grade without the extreme price premium of the fully-loaded Titanium or Platinum City versions.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Patrol remains the undisputed king of the desert when compared to rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser, Chevrolet Tahoe, and Ford Expedition. While the Land Cruiser 300 series has moved toward twin-turbo V6 engines, the Patrol LE T2 retains the naturally aspirated 5.6L V8, which many GCC enthusiasts prefer for its linear power delivery and long-term mechanical simplicity in high-heat environments. Against American rivals like the Tahoe, the Patrol offers a more sophisticated independent rear suspension system that provides better stability during high-speed highway cruising and more articulation for off-road maneuvers. Its 140-liter fuel tank capacity is a major differentiator, allowing for significantly longer range between fill-ups on cross-border trips compared to the smaller tanks found in the Expedition. Furthermore, the Patrol’s interior is often cited as feeling more 'premium' in its material choices than the more utilitarian interiors of its competitors. The massive service network for Nissan across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures that no matter where you travel in the region, expert maintenance is always nearby.

Running Costs & Resale

The Nissan Patrol is widely regarded as having the lowest depreciation rate in the GCC SUV segment, often retaining up to 80-85% of its value after the first three years. This makes it a significantly safer financial asset than European luxury SUVs, which can lose value much more rapidly in the local market. Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 averages around 14.5 to 16 liters per 100 km, depending on the ratio of city traffic to highway driving. While the fuel costs are higher than a sedan, the reliability of the powertrain means that unexpected repair costs are remarkably low. Servicing is straightforward, with intervals typically set at every 10,000 km, and authorized Nissan service centers are more prevalent across the GCC than almost any other brand. Parts are readily available and affordable, both through official dealers and high-quality aftermarket suppliers. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, this car carries a higher market value and easier insurability than imported American or Japanese spec models, as it is built specifically to handle the extreme 50°C+ summer temperatures.

Performance & Capability

At the heart of this LE T2 is the 5.6-liter V8 engine, producing 400 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque, which allows the vehicle to reach 100 km/h in approximately 7.3 seconds—impressive for a 2.8-ton SUV. The Four-Wheel Drive system is one of the most capable in the world, featuring a dedicated low-range transfer case and multiple terrain modes including Sand, On-Road, Rock, and Snow. For GCC weekend warriors, the 'Sand' mode optimizes throttle response and gear shifts to ensure you never lose momentum in soft dunes. The 273 mm of ground clearance ensures that you can navigate rough terrain or deep puddles during the rainy season without concern. Towing capacity is equally robust at 3,500 kg, making it easy to haul boats or jet skis to the coast. On the highway, the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system (available on LE trims) significantly reduces body roll, making the vehicle feel planted and confident during lane changes at speed. This combination of raw off-road power and refined highway manners is why the model has remained a regional bestseller for decades.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the Patrol is designed as a sanctuary from the harsh outdoor environment of the Middle East. With an 8-seat configuration, it is the ultimate family vehicle, providing genuine space for adults even in the third row. The air conditioning system is legendary in the GCC for its ability to cool the massive cabin in minutes, even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents and independent controls, ensuring everyone stays comfortable during long trips between emirates. The LE T2 trim features high-quality materials and excellent sound insulation, which keeps the cabin remarkably quiet even at highway speeds of 120 km/h. Technology is well-integrated with a large touchscreen display, premium audio, and multiple USB ports throughout the cabin to keep the whole family connected. The boot space, even with the third row in use, is practical, and it expands significantly when the rear seats are folded flat, making it ideal for large grocery runs or camping gear. Every detail is focused on making long-distance travel as stress-free as possible.

Safety

Safety is a paramount feature of the LE T2 trim, which comes equipped with Nissan Intelligent Mobility. This suite of features includes Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking, which are essential for navigating the high-speed traffic and occasional sudden stops on the E11 or Sheikh Zayed Road. Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert provide an extra layer of protection, acting as a second set of eyes when maneuvering this large SUV. The vehicle’s construction utilizes a high-strength zone body designed to absorb impact energy, while six standard airbags provide comprehensive protection for all occupants. For long desert highway drives, the Intelligent Cruise Control helps maintain a safe distance from the car ahead, reducing driver fatigue during multi-hour journeys. Additionally, the Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control systems provide added safety and confidence when navigating steep inclines or declines, whether in a multi-story parking garage or a rocky mountain trail in Hatta or Jebel Jais.

The bottom line

This 2024 Nissan Patrol LE T2 is the perfect match for a large family or a high-mileage commuter who needs a reliable, V8-powered SUV that is guaranteed to hold its value. It offers the latest 2024 styling and technology at a price point that reflects its highway usage, making it one of the smartest value-for-money listings currently available in the GCC.
