Summary

This 2024 Nissan Patrol SE Platinum City is an exceptional example of why this model remains the undisputed 'Hero of All Terrains' in the GCC region. Despite its status as a recent model year, it offers a proven V6 powertrain that balances the legendary capability of the Patrol with modern efficiency for daily urban use. The Platinum City trim adds sophisticated aesthetic touches and high-end technological integrations that elevate it above standard utilitarian SUVs. In a market where resale value and long-term durability are paramount, this vehicle stands out as a sensible yet prestigious investment. Its metallic grey finish is highly sought after in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring it retains its value far better than bolder, less traditional colors. For the buyer who demands a vehicle capable of transitioning from a professional corporate environment to a weekend family expedition in the desert, this listing represents the most versatile choice available today.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

When comparing this specific unit to other 2024 models on the market, the mileage reflects a very active first year of ownership, likely dominated by long-distance highway commutes between emirates. In the GCC, where 20,000 to 25,000 km is considered a standard annual average, this vehicle's figure indicates it has been thoroughly road-tested and is well past its initial break-in period. This provides a buyer with the confidence that any early-stage factory adjustments have already been addressed. The grey exterior is a significant advantage in the local used market, as it is one of the top three colors for resale alongside white and silver. It also excels at masking the fine desert dust common in this region, maintaining a clean appearance longer than darker shades. Choosing a 2024 model means you are benefiting from the most refined iteration of this generation, with all the latest infotainment and acoustic insulation improvements fully implemented.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The SE Platinum City trim is a substantial step up from the base XE or SE variants, offering a suite of luxury features that are essential for the GCC climate. While lower trims often stick to basic fabric interiors and standard cooling, the Platinum City introduces premium quilted leather upholstery and more advanced climate control settings. One of the most critical upgrades for local buyers is the inclusion of the 360-degree Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, which makes navigating tight parking spaces in Dubai or Riyadh remarkably simple for a vehicle of this size. You also get the enhanced 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and the 'City' bumper design, which provides a sleeker, more aerodynamic profile suitable for high-end urban environments. Furthermore, the infotainment system in this trim is significantly more robust, featuring a larger high-resolution display and integrated navigation that is pre-loaded with comprehensive GCC mapping.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Patrol consistently leads its primary rival, the Toyota Land Cruiser, in terms of interior volume and passenger comfort. While the Land Cruiser is often viewed as more utilitarian, the Patrol offers a more 'sofa-like' seating experience that is preferred for long family road trips to Salalah or across the UAE. It also competes with the Chevrolet Tahoe and Ford Expedition, but holds a distinct advantage in terms of its off-road pedigree; the Patrol's heritage is built into its chassis, offering better approach and departure angles for sand dune navigation. Additionally, the Nissan's air conditioning system is widely regarded in the region as being exceptionally powerful, capable of cooling an 8-passenger cabin from 45 degrees to a comfortable 22 degrees faster than its American counterparts. The 140-liter fuel tank capacity is another area where it beats many rivals, providing an immense cruising range that is vital for cross-border GCC travel.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating a 4.0L V6 Nissan Patrol in the GCC is surprisingly manageable when compared to the larger V8 variants. In typical stop-start traffic in major cities, you can expect a fuel consumption rate that stays within a reasonable range for a full-sized SUV, while the highway efficiency is excellent for long-distance cruising. The vehicle's GCC specification is a massive value-add, ensuring that the radiator, battery, and air conditioning system are all optimized for extreme desert heat, which preserves the vehicle's lifespan. Maintenance is straightforward, with one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the world spanning across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman. Parts are readily available at multiple price points, which keeps long-term ownership costs lower than European luxury SUVs. Historically, the Nissan Patrol has one of the lowest depreciation rates in the region, often retaining up to 80-85% of its value after the first three years, making it one of the safest financial bets in the automotive world.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is the 4.0-liter V6 engine, which provides a smooth and reliable 275 horsepower and 394 Nm of torque. This power is delivered through a seamless 7-speed automatic transmission that is tuned specifically for the heavy-duty requirements of the GCC. Whether you are overtaking on the E11 highway or climbing a steep dune, the 4WD system with its electronically controlled part-time transfer case ensures you have the right amount of traction at all times. The driver can easily switch between Sand, On-Road, Rock, and Snow modes, allowing the vehicle's computer to optimize the throttle and braking for the specific terrain. With a ground clearance of approximately 273 mm, it comfortably clears obstacles that would stop most other SUVs in their tracks. The towing capacity is also impressive, easily handling boat trailers or jet ski haulers for weekend trips to the coast.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the SE Platinum City offers a sanctuary from the harsh outside environment. The 8-seat configuration is designed with genuine family utility in mind, providing enough legroom in the third row for adults, which is a rarity in this segment. The cabin is wrapped in high-quality materials with wood-tone trim accents that provide a warm, premium feel. For the GCC summer, the powerful tri-zone climate control system allows the driver, front passenger, and rear passengers to set their own temperatures, with ceiling-mounted vents ensuring airflow reaches every corner of the vehicle. Double-glazed windows and extensive sound dampening make the interior remarkably quiet, even at highway speeds of 120 km/h. The trunk space remains functional even with the third row in place, and when folded flat, it creates a massive cargo area suitable for camping gear or large grocery hauls.

Safety

Safety in the 2024 Nissan Patrol is comprehensive, utilizing the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite to protect all eight occupants. Standard features on this trim include Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, which monitors two vehicles ahead to anticipate potential hazards. This is particularly useful on busy GCC highways where sudden braking is common. The vehicle is also equipped with Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Intervention systems to help keep you centered and aware during long drives. For family protection, it includes front, side, and curtain airbags that extend to all three rows, along with reinforced side-impact beams. The high seating position provides excellent natural visibility, while the tire pressure monitoring system is an essential tool for those who frequently deflate their tires for off-road excursions and need to ensure they are safely reinflated for the drive home.

The bottom line

This 2024 Nissan Patrol SE Platinum City is the perfect match for a family man or an adventurous professional who needs a reliable, high-status vehicle that excels in both the city and the desert. Given its recent model year and high-demand GCC specifications, it offers a rare opportunity to own a nearly new flagship SUV with the peace of mind that only a Nissan can provide in this region.
