Summary

This 2023 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum City represents the absolute peak of the Y62 generation, pairing the legendary 400 hp V8 with the most luxurious interior appointment available. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it features the heavy-duty cooling and sand filtration systems essential for maintaining performance in the intense Gulf heat. While the mileage is consistent with a high-utilization executive or family commuter, the Platinum City trim remains the most sought-after on the used market due to its superior road manners and premium tech. This model remains a regional icon because it balances genuine desert capability with a cabin that rivals high-end luxury sedans. For a GCC buyer, this is the definitive choice for a vehicle that can handle the school run, a 140 km/h highway cruise to Abu Dhabi, and a weekend in the dunes with equal ease.

This Car vs Other 2023 Patrols

With 138,000 km, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical 25,000 km annual GCC average, suggesting heavy highway use which is common for regional commuters. Its White exterior is the single strongest resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, significantly aiding value retention. While the mileage is higher than some listings, the mechanical simplicity of the naturally aspirated V8 is designed for exactly this kind of long-distance durability.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The Platinum City sits above the LE Titanium, adding the exclusive 'City Bumper' for a more sophisticated road presence and 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels. Inside, it upgrades to quilted semi-aniline leather seats with both heating and ventilation, alongside a 13-speaker Bose premium sound system. It also features the Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) suspension, which significantly reduces body roll during cornering compared to the standard suspension on lower trims.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, the Patrol LE Platinum City offers a noticeably plusher on-road ride and more generous interior tech for the price point. Its 140-litre fuel tank provides a superior range for long-distance desert crossings compared to many American rivals like the Ford Expedition. While the Land Cruiser focuses on technical off-road electronics, the Patrol's V8 provides a more visceral, immediate power delivery that remains a favorite for GCC highway overtaking.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.6L V8 sees real-world fuel consumption of approximately 16–18 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though this can reach 20 L/100km in heavy stop-start city traffic. Maintenance is supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the region, including Al Masaood and AW Rostamani in the UAE. The Patrol holds some of the highest residual values in the world here, typically only trailing the Land Cruiser by a small margin. Parts are universally available in every GCC city, ensuring long-term repair costs remain manageable.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 delivers a 0–100 km/h time of approximately 6.6 seconds, an impressive feat for a vehicle of this scale. Its All-Wheel Drive system is paired with a dedicated low-range transfer case and selectable terrain modes, making it one of the few luxury SUVs that is genuinely desert-ready from the factory. The HBMC suspension provides a 'flat' cornering feel on the highway while allowing maximum wheel articulation when navigating technical dunes or rocky wadis.

Comfort & Cabin

This 8-seater configuration features a powerful triple-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents specifically engineered to cool a full cabin in 45°C+ temperatures. The front seats are ventilated to combat summer heat, and the cabin is exceptionally quiet thanks to acoustic glass. The dual 12.3-inch screen setup and rear-seat entertainment screens ensure that long family road trips across the Emirates are comfortable for every passenger.

Safety

The Platinum City comes standard with the full Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control, which is essential for the long, fast-moving highways of the GCC. It also features a 360° Around View Monitor with moving object detection, providing vital visibility when parking such a large SUV. Other key systems include Intelligent Lane Intervention, Blind Spot Warning, and Forward Collision Warning with Emergency Braking.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a buyer who wants the prestigious V8 Platinum City experience without the brand-new showroom price. Its GCC-spec pedigree and white-on-tan color combination make it a safe, high-liquidity investment in the regional used car market.
