• 80-litre fuel tank capacity
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2026 Toyota Hilux GL is a pristine example of the world's most trusted workhorse, offering the rare combination of a petrol engine and a manual transmission. Finished in White, the strongest resale color in the GCC, this single-cab configuration is perfectly suited for high-utility tasks and desert logistics. As a brand-new model year for the region, it benefits from Toyota’s latest refinements in durability while remaining mechanically simple for long-term ownership. The Hilux remains the segment leader for reliability, making it a low-risk investment for businesses and private owners alike. In the extreme heat and vast distances of the UAE and wider GCC, the peace of mind offered by Toyota's massive service infrastructure is its single greatest advantage.

This Car vs Other 2026 Hiluxs

While many 2026 Hilux models are transitioning to automatic-only or hybrid powertrains, this GL trim retains the preferred manual 4x4 setup for maximum control in off-road and heavy-load scenarios. Being a brand-new vehicle, its mileage is negligible, providing a significant longevity advantage over used units from previous years. The White exterior is not just a aesthetic choice; it is the most sought-after color for heat reflection and resale value retention in the regional market.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim bridges the gap between basic utility and daily usability by providing essential cabin features often missing in lower WorkMate-style trims. It typically includes upgraded fabric seating and a more robust interior trim designed to withstand the abrasive dust and heat of the GCC. Choosing the GL ensures you have the selectable 4x4 system and heavy-duty suspension as standard, whereas lower export-spec trims may lack the specific regional cooling upgrades found here.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

Against the Nissan Navara and Mitsubishi L200, the Hilux leads with a larger 80-litre fuel tank, which is critical for long-distance highway hauls across the UAE or Saudi Arabia. While rivals may offer slightly softer rides, the Hilux’s ladder-frame chassis is specifically engineered for higher vertical stress and superior parts availability in remote areas. Its petrol engine configuration is also generally preferred by GCC buyers over smaller-displacement diesel rivals for its simplicity and ease of maintenance.

Running Costs & Resale

Toyota Hilux models in the GCC maintain some of the lowest depreciation rates in the automotive industry, typically losing only 8–10% annually compared to 15% for European rivals. Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.7L/2.5L petrol range averages around 10–12 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, though highway cruising remains efficient thanks to the manual gearbox. Service intervals are typically set every 5,000 to 10,000 km, supported by the largest authorised service network in the Middle East, ensuring parts are affordable and always in stock.

Performance & Capability

The Hilux GL features a selectable four-wheel-drive system that allows for seamless transitions between fuel-efficient rear-wheel drive and high-traction 4x4 modes. With its high ground clearance and robust leaf-spring rear suspension, it is built to handle payloads of approximately 1,000 kg without compromising chassis integrity. The 100 hp petrol engine is tuned for high-torque delivery at low RPMs, providing steady climbing power for sandy terrain and heavy cargo beds.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the two-seat single-cab layout provides a focused work environment with an air conditioning system specifically calibrated for 45°C+ summer peaks. The cabin is insulated to reduce vibration and heat soak, featuring durable high-grade materials that resist fading in intense sunlight. Practical storage solutions behind the seats and a simplified dashboard layout ensure that the ownership experience is both functional and comfortable for long workdays.

Safety

Safety is managed through a reinforced safety cell and standard driver and passenger airbags. This GL trim includes essential active systems such as Anti-lock Braking (ABS) and Vehicle Stability Control, which are vital for maintaining control on gravel tracks and fast-moving multi-lane highways. Toyota’s Hill Assist Control and Brake Assist are also standard, providing extra security when navigating steep gradients or emergency stops under load.

The bottom line

For the professional or enthusiast who demands mechanical purity and unmatched reliability, this brand-new Hilux GL is the definitive choice. It is a high-utility asset that promises the best resale value in the region and total support from the GCC's most extensive service network.
