Toyota Hilux DLX BASIC MANUAL

Highlights

• 3,500 kg braked towing capacity
• 286 mm standard ground clearance
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This Hilux is the ultimate choice for those who need a bulletproof workhorse that transitions seamlessly into a rugged weekend adventurer. As a brand-new model, it offers the peace of mind of zero mileage in a segment where high use is the norm, paired with a white exterior that is the gold standard for resale value across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. The DLX trim strikes a smart balance between raw utility and modern essentials, making it a more practical daily driver than the base fleet versions. With its proven 2.4-liter diesel and manual 4WD setup, this is a vehicle built to outlast the competition in the harshest desert heat. Whether you are managing a site or heading into the dunes, this pickup remains the undisputed benchmark for durability in the region.

This Car vs Other 2026 Hiluxs

While many 2026 models in the GCC are already racking up kilometers as fleet workhorses, this specific unit stands out with its zero-mileage status. Its white paint is the most sought-after color in the regional used market, ensuring faster resale and better heat reflection during the peak summer months. Choosing a brand-new manual diesel variant now avoids the typical wear-and-tear risks associated with second-hand trucks in this segment.

DLX vs Lower Trims

The DLX trim adds a significant layer of daily comfort over the basic WorkMate or commercial fleet grades, featuring power windows and central locking as standard. You also benefit from an upgraded interior with maroon-accented fabric seats and a more refined dashboard layout that mimics the Land Cruiser's ergonomics. Externally, the DLX usually moves away from basic black plastics to include body-colored details that give it a more premium, personal-use appearance.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

The Hilux leads its main rivals, the Mitsubishi L200 and Isuzu D-Max, by offering a 286 mm ground clearance that is superior for navigating deep sand and rocky wadis. Its 80-liter fuel tank provides a longer touring range for cross-border drives between Dubai, Muscat, and Riyadh compared to smaller-tank competitors. Toyota's resale value in the Middle East remains unmatched, typically depreciating at a much slower rate than American or European alternatives.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 2.4L diesel manual typically settles between 7.5 and 8.5 L/100km on long GCC highway runs, though stop-start city traffic may see figures climb slightly. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km or 6 months, supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the world, covering every corner of the UAE, KSA, and Oman. The Hilux holds roughly 80-85% of its value after three years, outperforming almost every other pickup in the segment.

Performance & Capability

With 400 Nm of torque available from just 1,600 rpm, this truck is purpose-built for heavy hauling and low-speed technical off-roading. The manual six-speed gearbox gives you total control when descending steep dunes or navigating muddy tracks in the northern emirates. It is officially rated for a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, making it capable of pulling heavy trailers or boats with ease across long highway stretches.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the double-cab configuration comfortably seats five adults, with a powerful manual air conditioning system engineered specifically to handle 45°C+ temperatures. The new digital cockpit and 12.3-inch touchscreen bring modern connectivity, including wireless smartphone integration, to a vehicle otherwise known for its mechanical simplicity. Acoustic glass and improved insulation help keep the cabin quiet during high-speed highway cruising between cities.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of active systems including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control, which are vital for maintaining composure on loose sand and gravel. Dual front airbags, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), and Trailer Sway Control come as standard, providing a safety net for both work duties and family trips. The reinforced ladder-frame chassis provides a robust foundation that has consistently earned high safety marks in international testing.

The bottom line

For the professional or enthusiast who values mechanical reliability and high resale above all else, this new-generation Hilux is the most secure investment in the GCC pickup market today.
