Summary

This 2027 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ GXR is a standout choice for those seeking a compact yet genuine 4x4, offering legendary reliability in a size that excels in UAE city traffic. As a GXR, it brings premium upgrades like synthetic leather and advanced safety tech over the base trim, all while finished in White—the strongest resale color in the GCC market. Its 2.7-liter engine is a proven workhorse, ideal for long-term ownership with low maintenance costs across the region. Compared to rivals, the FJ offers a more maneuverable footprint without sacrificing the rugged body-on-frame durability expected of a Land Cruiser. This is the perfect balance of iconic retro design and modern GCC-spec capability for daily commuting and weekend desert excursions.

This Car vs Other 2027 Land Cruiser FJs

With zero kilometers on the odometer, this 2027 model offers a factory-fresh entry into the newest generation of the Land Cruiser family. The White exterior is widely considered the premier choice for GCC climate and resale value, naturally resisting heat better than darker alternatives. Finding a GXR trim with this mileage ensures you are securing the highest level of equipment available for the 2.7L variant in the current market.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base EXR by adding a 360-degree panoramic view camera, which is essential for placing this SUV in tight Dubai parking spots. You also gain synthetic leather upholstery and a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display, moving the cabin from basic utility to modern comfort. Crucially for safety, the GXR includes the full Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite, featuring radar cruise control and blind-spot monitoring.

Land Cruiser FJ vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser FJ leads its segment rivals like the GWM Tank 300 and Suzuki Jimny 5-door by offering the extensive Toyota authorized service network that spans every corner of the GCC. Its 245 mm ground clearance and 700 mm wading depth outperform most urban-biased crossovers, providing genuine peace of mind for wadi exploration. Additionally, its tight 5.5-meter turning radius makes it significantly easier to drive in stop-start Riyadh or Dubai traffic than a full-sized Land Cruiser 300.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.7L 2TR-FE engine typically averages between 10.5 and 12.5 L/100km, though this can rise in heavy GCC city traffic. The 63-liter fuel tank is sized for a mix of urban use and moderate desert trips. Toyota remains the benchmark for value retention in the UAE and Saudi markets, with this specific model expected to maintain high resale prices due to its GCC specification and iconic branding. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km at any authorized Toyota center across the region.

Performance & Capability

The 164 hp engine is paired with a selectable part-time 4WD system and a standard rear differential lock, ensuring you won't get stuck on soft sand during weekend adventures. Its ladder-frame construction, derived from the rugged Hilux platform, provides the durability needed for harsh desert conditions and extreme summer heat. While focused on steady, reliable delivery rather than high-speed sprints, the 6-speed automatic is calibrated for smooth low-speed crawling and relaxed highway cruising at local limits.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the FJ features a 'Functional Fun' design with durable materials built to withstand the GCC's dusty environment. The GXR's synthetic leather seats and dual-zone climate control ensure a comfortable cabin temperature even when outside figures exceed 45°C. The 5-seat layout provides ample legroom for a small family, and the 765-liter boot space is remarkably generous for a vehicle of this compact length, easily accommodating camping gear or bulk groceries.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the GXR, featuring seven airbags and the advanced Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 platform as standard. This includes essential systems for fast-moving GCC highways, such as Pre-Collision safety, Lane Departure Alert, and Adaptive Radar Cruise Control. The addition of front and rear parking sensors alongside the 360-degree camera provides complete situational awareness in crowded urban areas.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who wants Land Cruiser prestige and off-road capability in a nimble, city-friendly package, this brand-new 2027 GXR is a smart, high-resale investment.
