2018 S-Class Coupe and Cabrio models confirmed for Frankfurt

This year’s Frankfurt Motor Show is already gearing up to Motor Show of the year. Not only will we catch a glimpse of the latest Audi A8 and BMW 7-Series, but 2018 S-Class Coupe and Cabrio models have also been confirmed for the show.

Sporting minor visual enhancements, the biggest changes to the 2018 S-Class Coupe and Cabrio models lay hidden away from plain view and can only be utilised by those who own the vehicle.

We’ve covered the facelift previously, but what peaks our interest this time around is the newly developed Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive system. BMW have repeatedly shown off their Remote Parking Assist Function, and the new A8 will also benefit from this, you’ll be able to do this in the 2018 S-Class Coupe and Cabrio models too.

And that’s not all. This new system adds and combines Active Steer Assist, Lane Departure Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist and Distronic Active Proximity Assist.

Mercedes have yet to confirm any autonomous features outside of the remote parking application.

At the show, we’re expecting to see not just the facelifted models but a selection of new motors to power them. This includes the S650 model with a V8 Biturbo motor pumping out 463 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.

To add to the list, Mercedes will reveal an expansive selection of petrol and diesel powered engines including a 3-litre straight six diesel motor.

Mercedes haven’t hinted when we’ll see the updated S63 and S65 variants. Expect to see these models debut shortly afterwards.

Dubicars.com has new Mercedes-Benz S-Class and used Mercedes-Benz S-Class for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman.
