2019 Sportage revealed

Kia has officially lifted the wraps off of the 2019 Sportage which is destined to launch later this year with a fresh face, new technology and a few tweaks here and there.

Other noteworthy revisions include new front and rear bumpers, redesigned front and rear lamps, refreshed ‘ice cube’ LED fog lights and new rim designs ranging from 16- to 19-inches.

The South Korean manufacturer has also added five new paint options to choose from. The sporty GT-Line returns for another year and is fitted with a black front grille, gloss silver and black skid plates and dual tailpipes.

Moving to the interior, the facelifted model receives a new steering wheel for drives along with a new instrument cluster and two-tone upholstery.  Furthermore, the model is fitted with a 7.0-inch display across the board, while customers looking for something larger can opt for a ‘frameless’ 8.0-inch unit instead.

As for safety, Kia latest Sportage can be had with Smart Crusie Control with Stop&Go, Driver Attention Warning and Around View Mirror.

Kia is said to offer a variety of petrol and diesel motors with the latter ranging from 113 and 134 horsepower. Additionally, the 2019 Sportage gets a new mild-hybrid drivetrain. EcoDynamics+ as it is known as comes with a 2.0-litre diesel, 48-volt battery and a mild starter Generator unit.

Kia’s 2019 Sportage will go on sale in Europe later this year, and shortly after, sales should commence in other regions.
