Kia releases sketches of the new Rio Hatchback

Even though the Paris Motor show is right around the corner, Kia wants to give you a sneak peek of what to expect from the upcoming Kia Rio model. Although they are still drawings, we’ll give Kia the benefit of the doubt.

From the sketches, notice the aggression that rolls off the front end with a touch of sportiness. Designed in both California and Germany, new Rio’s are said to roll on an extended wheelbase and feature a longer nose.

Rio vehicles are the brand’s most popular vehicle worldwide and last year alone they sold close to half a million Rio models. Kia has played it smart by updating the model now as both the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo are receiving updates.

Out of the three renderings, no sedan model is visible only the Hatchback has been shared. Don’t get too worried as even though it may not be as popular as the hatch, expect it to return alongside. Two door hatch models are expected to return too.

Power will be exclusively be sent to the front wheels via a four-cylinder petrol engine in the Gulf with three-cylinder motors being made available elsewhere. You can also expect Rio models to be trimmed in GT Spec somewhere down the line to add more bang for your buck.

No price or official release is mentioned, we expect that to change come October.
