Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition adds a touch of luxury inside and out

Somehow, Mercedes have made the GLS-series even more luxurious with a new trim package.With plush additions inside and out, this is the Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition.

Inside, the Grand Edition pack adds Desingo Nappa leather featuring diamond quilting and Budapest-design piping covering each for the seven seats. As for the dashboard, that’s smothered in premium Nappa leather too. Occupants can rest their feet on brown velour floor mats and there is a new ambient lighting package available to complement the already ultra luxurious options.

Exterior wise, owners can tell there’s apart with exclusive badging found on the front panels and bespoke 20-inch alloys bolted to each corner sporting a 10-spoke alloy design with silver and black highlights.

Owners can mix and match their Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition as the interior pack and exterior styling cues are sold separately. The interior enhancements cost €5,900 or AED 25,420 and the exterior is priced at €2,300 or AED 9,909.

This trim package is available for the GLS 400, GLS 500 and GLS 350d.

As the package is purely cosmetic, there are no changes to any of the drivetrains. Range-topping GLS 500 SUV’s benefit from a 4.7-litre turbocharged V8 rated at 449 horsepower. A 9-speed automatic gearbox drives all four wheels which allows the bulky SUV to launch to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of 250 km/h.

GLS 400 models retain their 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol motor rated at 334 horsepower. Mated to an automatic gearbox driving all four wheels, the luxury SUV launches to 100 km/h in less than seven seconds.
