S-Class Cabriolet and Coupe updated for 2018

Not only will Mercedes show off their latest special edition of the G-Wagen later this month in Frankfurt, they’ll also be showcasing the 2018 S-Class Cabriolet and Coupe models.

Cosmetically, both S-Class Cabriolet and Coupe models benefit from OLED taillights flanking either side of the rear. Additionally, there are slight modifications to the light designs and die hard fans will notice light revisions to the bumpers.

Open either of the two doors and instantly two 12.3-inch displays stick out for drivers and passengers alike. Although they may carry over from last year, they do support the latest COMAND multi media system complete with navigation.

Both models also come with an Energizing comfort function which monitors various parts of one’s body to optimise cabin temperature, ambient lighting and fragrance functions to suit individual needs.

Mercedes’s improved Active Distance Assist Distronic and Active Steering Assist systems are now standard across the range. They have also reworked the optional Magic Body Control.

2018 S-Class Cabriolet and Coupe will go on sale in the US later next year for an undisclosed price.

S-Class Cabriolet power plants

US spec models (S560) draw power from a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 rated at 463 horsepower driving the rear wheels or all four of them via Mercedes’s token 4Matic system.
