It’s been four years since the current Sportage has been in production and It’s about time for a change for the popular Kia. The Korean brand is in the same frame of mind as a 2019 Kia Sportage has been spotted in Europe.
What’s new for the 2019 Kia Sportage
Although it may be hard to see what’s new for the next generation Sportage, redesigned headlights prominently shine brightly on either side of the tiger nose grille. Upon further inspection, new fog lights are also evident along with a new front bumper with what appear to be revised air intakes.
This particular model is also fitted with a set of two-tone lightweight alloys and dual exhaust pipes which would indicate what you’re looking at here is not just a 2019 Kia Sportage, but the GT line variant.
Around the rear new rear LED graphic lights pop out to give the rear end a fresh look.
Inside, Kia is keeping us in the dark as no pictures have surfaced, but we’re inclined to believe there are no major changes but we won’t rule out an upgraded infotainment system and new materials.
The 2019 Kia Sportage should make it’s global debut later this year. With engines unconfirmed as of writing, it’s safe to assume a host of petrol and diesel four-cylinder motors will return either naturally aspirated or turbocharged. And we can’t discount the hybrid variants returning too.
We’re also expecting front-wheel-drive to return as the norm with all-wheel-drive optionally available.
