• 170 hp from a 2.4L i-VTEC engine
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This Honda CR-V is a reliable everyday choice, benefiting from the brand’s massive popularity and ease of maintenance across the UAE and wider GCC. The white exterior is a smart selection for the local climate, effectively reflecting heat and maintaining one of the highest resale values in the used market. With its All-Wheel Drive system, it provides stable handling on both highway commutes and light gravel paths for weekend outings. The 2010 model remains a favorite for families who prioritize mechanical simplicity and long-term durability over complex modern electronics. For a GCC buyer, this represents a low-risk entry into a practical SUV that is supported by an extensive parts network in every emirate.

This Car vs Other 2010 CR-Vs

With 220,000 km, this vehicle sits at a standard mileage for a 2010 model in the GCC, where long-distance commutes are the norm. The white exterior is a significant advantage in the local market, as it is the most requested color for heat management and future resale. Choosing a GCC-spec model ensures the cooling system and air conditioning are calibrated for extreme summer temperatures unlike imported alternatives.

RVSI vs Lower Trims

The RVSI trim elevates the CR-V experience with premium features like a power sunroof and an upgraded audio system compared to the base LX. It typically includes steering wheel-mounted controls and alloy wheels, providing a more refined aesthetic and better convenience for long highway drives across the Emirates. These additions make the RVSI much more desirable for second-hand buyers looking for comfort without the high maintenance of luxury brands.

CR-V vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan X-Trail of the same era, the CR-V is often praised for its superior interior ergonomics and smooth car-like handling. Its flat-folding rear seats and low cargo floor provide more practical loading space for family gear than many competitors. Additionally, Honda's i-VTEC engine technology offers a balanced mix of mid-range torque and reliability that rivals find hard to match over long ownership periods.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.4L AWD powertrain averages around 10.1 L/100km on highways and roughly 13.1 L/100km in stop-start city traffic. Service intervals are typically every 5,000 to 10,000 km, with one of the most accessible authorized and independent service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Historically, the CR-V maintains excellent value retention, depreciating slower than European rivals in the same category.

Performance & Capability

The 170 hp 2.4L i-VTEC engine is paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission, delivering a smooth 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 11.3 seconds. Its Real Time All-Wheel Drive system is designed for on-road stability, automatically sending power to the rear wheels when it detects slip on rain-slicked roads or sandy surfaces. With 185 mm of ground clearance, it easily manages high speed bumps and uneven terrain found in developing suburban areas.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for 5 passengers with a focus on headroom and visibility, making it feel more spacious than its compact dimensions suggest. The air conditioning system is famously robust, capable of cooling the interior quickly even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Rear passengers benefit from ample legroom and seats that can slide and recline, ensuring comfort during cross-emirate road trips.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution. The CR-V is built with Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, which is designed to protect occupants by distributing crash energy more evenly. It also features front and side-curtain airbags, providing comprehensive protection for all seating positions.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec CR-V is the ideal match for a budget-conscious family or commuter looking for a durable SUV with the best resale color and spec for the local market.
