Summary

This Range Rover Sport SVR represents the ultimate evolution of the L494 generation, delivering track-focused dynamics without compromising its British luxury roots. As a Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) project, it stands out with a unique active exhaust system and aggressive body styling that commands attention on UAE roads. The supercharged V8 engine provides a visceral soundtrack and immediate power delivery that rivals dedicated sports cars while maintaining a 5-seater practical SUV layout. For a GCC buyer, this specific listing offers a high-performance entry point into the SVR family at a stage where the most significant depreciation has already occurred.

This Car vs Other 2015 Range Rover Sports

With 170,000 km, this vehicle reflects consistent highway use, which is typical for performance SUVs in the GCC where long-distance commutes between emirates are common. While the mileage is higher than the regional average of 20,000–25,000 km per year, it indicates a car that has been driven regularly rather than sitting idle. The Grey exterior is a versatile and popular choice in the local market, offering better heat management than darker tones while maintaining strong resale appeal.

SVR vs Lower Trims

The SVR trim is a significant leap over the standard Supercharged V8, adding an extra 40 hp and a recalibrated 8-speed transmission that shifts up to 50% faster in Dynamic mode. It features exclusive SVR-branded sports seats with increased lateral support and a high-performance Brembo braking system standard. Additionally, the SVR includes a unique active exhaust system and SVR-tuned air suspension designed to virtually eliminate body roll during spirited cornering.

Range Rover Sport vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW X5 M and Porsche Cayenne Turbo, the Range Rover Sport SVR leads in off-road versatility thanks to its dual-range transfer case and Terrain Response 2 system. It offers a superior wading depth of 850 mm, making it uniquely capable of handling sudden localized flooding or light desert excursions that its German rivals avoid. The SVR's cabin also provides a more upright, commanding driving position preferred by many GCC drivers for visibility in heavy highway traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the supercharged V8 typically averages 12.8 L/100km on a combined cycle, though city driving in GCC stop-start traffic will see higher figures. As an American spec vehicle, buyers should ensure it has been adapted for the local climate and check for service history at reputable independent Land Rover specialists, which are plentiful across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. While European performance SUVs depreciate faster than Japanese luxury alternatives, the SVR trim retains a cult-like following in the GCC, helping it maintain a higher value floor than standard HSE models.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure is the 680 Nm of torque, which allows for effortless overtaking on the E11 or E311 highways. The 0-100 km/h sprint of 4.7 seconds is achieved via a permanent four-wheel-drive system that can channel up to 100% of torque to either axle in extreme conditions. Despite its track tuning, the SVR retains a 3,000 kg braked towing capacity and adjustable ride height (50mm to 235mm), making it just as suitable for towing jet skis to the coast as it is for high-speed grand touring.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a blend of carbon fiber accents and premium leather, featuring a 19-speaker 825-watt Meridian surround sound system as standard for an immersive audio experience. For the GCC summer, the cabin benefits from a powerful dual-zone climate control system and deep-bolstered ventilated front seats to keep occupants cool. The 5-seat configuration provides ample legroom for adult passengers, and the 1,761-litre maximum cargo space ensures practicality for family road trips across borders.

Safety

Safety is prioritized with a comprehensive suite including Roll Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control, and Emergency Brake Assist. The SVR is equipped with six-piston Brembo front calipers for exceptional stopping power, critical for high-speed highway safety. Standard driver aids like Blind Spot Monitoring and adaptive air suspension contribute to a secure and stable driving experience even in challenging crosswinds on open desert roads.

The bottom line

This 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is for the enthusiast who wants supercar performance in a daily-driver SUV package that is well-suited for the long-distance highway life of the GCC.
