Summary

This GCC-spec Land Rover Range Rover HSE offers a high-value entry into the L405 generation, finished in the region’s most desirable resale color, white. While the mileage reflects active use, these vehicles are built for long-distance highway comfort and handle the UAE’s summer heat exceptionally well thanks to the HSE-standard ventilated seating. The 5.0L V8 provides effortless power for highway overtaking and desert commutes that its six-cylinder rivals often lack. For a buyer seeking the ultimate status symbol with genuine off-road hardware, this well-specified GCC model remains the segment benchmark for luxury and capability.

This Car vs Other 2016 Range Rovers

With 195,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 24,000 km per year, which aligns closely with the GCC average for luxury SUVs used for inter-emirate travel. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, offering the best heat rejection and maintaining the highest resale demand in the UAE. While mileage is higher than occasional-use examples, it represents a significantly more accessible price point for the full-size L405 platform.

HSE vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim is a significant step up from the base SE, adding the sliding panoramic roof and 14-way power-adjustable Oxford perforated leather seats with integrated heating and cooling—features essential for GCC summers. It also upgrades the cabin with soft-door close technology and configurable interior mood lighting. Mechanically, the HSE gains larger 20-inch wheels and upgraded brakes compared to base models, providing better thermal management during long drives.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

The Range Rover leads the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7 in pure off-road capability, featuring a 900 mm wading depth and a dedicated low-range transfer case that rivals lack in standard form. Its aluminum monocoque construction makes it surprisingly agile for its size, while the 105-litre fuel tank offers superior range for long-distance desert crossings between the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The 'Command' driving position provides better visibility for navigating heavy city traffic compared to the more car-like seating of its German competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.0L V8 typically sees fuel consumption of 14–18 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though steady highway cruising can improve these figures significantly. Land Rover has an extensive authorized service network across all major GCC cities, with standard service intervals every 13,000 km or 12 months. While European luxury SUVs face higher depreciation than Japanese rivals, the HSE trim in white holds its residual value better than darker-colored or non-GCC spec imports.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 5.0L V8 producing 510 hp, this SUV delivers a top speed of 225 km/h and handles highway speeds with immense composure. The Terrain Response 2 system automatically adjusts the air suspension and drivetrain settings for sand, gravel, or mud, making it a genuine weekend adventurer. The adjustable air suspension can raise the vehicle to provide up to 295 mm of ground clearance for clearing obstacles in desert terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of Oxford leather and Grand Black Lacquer trim, featuring three-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers remain cool in 45°C+ heat. The 13-speaker Meridian audio system provides exceptional clarity, while the acoustic glass significantly reduces wind and road noise during high-speed highway travel. Rear passengers benefit from ample legroom and heated seating, making it an ideal choice for family road trips.

Safety

This Range Rover HSE comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Roll Stability Control, Trailer Stability Assist, and a 360-degree parking sensor system. The intelligent Four-Wheel Drive and Electronic Traction Control provide maximum grip on both rain-slicked tarmac and loose sand. Standard Xenon automatic headlamps with LED signatures ensure excellent visibility for night driving on unlit desert roads.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer wanting a flagship GCC-spec luxury SUV that is equally at home at a five-star hotel as it is on a weekend desert escape.
