Nissan Pathfinder SV

Highlights

• 284 hp from a 3.5L V6
• 2,722 kg braked towing capacity
• 5-star NHTSA safety rating

Summary

This 7-year-old Nissan Pathfinder SV represents a smart entry point into the large family SUV segment, offering a balance of updated 2019-model-year safety tech and a robust V6 powertrain. With mileage currently sitting at 96,000 km, it has been driven significantly less than the typical GCC average for a car of this age, which often exceeds 140,000 km. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, masking desert dust effectively while maintaining strong resale appeal. Compared to the base S trim, this SV adds essential driver aids like blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control that are invaluable on fast-moving UAE highways. For a GCC buyer, the combination of Nissan's massive local service footprint and the Pathfinder's flexible 7-seat layout makes this a dependable and low-stress family workhorse.

This Car vs Other 2019 Pathfinders

At 96,000 km, this vehicle averages just over 13,700 km per year, which is exceptionally low for a region where 20,000 km to 25,000 km is the standard. This lower usage means less wear on the suspension and cooling systems, both of which work hard in the GCC climate. The Grey finish is a high-demand color in the used market, ensuring better value retention than more niche shades.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is the 'sweet spot' for GCC drivers, adding a leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote engine start—essential for pre-cooling the cabin in summer—and fog lights. Most importantly, it introduces Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, safety features that the base S trim lacks, providing much-needed peace of mind during multi-lane highway lane changes.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

The Pathfinder leads many rivals like the Honda Pilot in towing capacity, offering a stout 2,722 kg rating that is ideal for hauling jet skis or trailers to the coast. Its EZ-Flex seating system allows for easier third-row access even with a child seat installed, a practical advantage over the Toyota Highlander. Additionally, Nissan's air conditioning systems are famously robust, often outperforming American rivals in extreme 45°C+ heat.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 averages around 10.5L/100km, though this can rise in the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a vast network of authorized service centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and always in stock. The Pathfinder experiences roughly 10-12% annual depreciation, holding its value significantly better than European luxury SUVs in the same size category.

Performance & Capability

The direct-injection 3.5L V6 produces a healthy 284 hp, providing confident overtaking power on long desert hauls between Emirates. While primarily road-biased, the 181mm of ground clearance and selectable drive modes allow for light weekend excursions on gravel tracks or hard-packed sand. The specially tuned suspension is designed to soak up highway expansion joints, ensuring a refined ride for all seven passengers during cross-border road trips.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the three-row layout is supported by a Tri-Zone automatic climate control system that ensures rear passengers receive dedicated cooling through roof-mounted vents. The SV trim includes an 8-way power driver's seat and a premium 8-inch touchscreen interface with integrated connectivity. Cabin insulation is specifically designed to minimize wind noise at the higher cruising speeds typical of GCC motorways.

Safety

The 2019 Pathfinder SV is highly rated for safety, carrying a 5-star NHTSA overall score. Standard active systems on this trim include Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. These systems are particularly effective at monitoring fast-moving traffic in the region, while the tire pressure monitoring system provides vital alerts during high-temperature summer drives.

The bottom line

This low-mileage, GCC-spec Pathfinder SV is the ideal choice for a family needing 7-seat versatility and proven reliability without the premium price tag of a newer model. It is a mechanically sound opportunity for a buyer who prioritizes safety and local service support.
