Summary

This silver Prado represents a highly stable asset in the UAE used market, benefiting from the region's strong preference for GCC-spec Toyota SUVs. With mileage currently sitting just above the 100,000 km mark, it is entering its mechanical prime for a platform known to exceed three times this distance with routine care. As an EXR trim, it avoids the electronic complexities of higher variants, offering a pure focus on the durability and resale liquidity that makes the nameplate famous. The silver exterior is a top-tier choice for the GCC climate, effectively hiding desert dust and maintaining its value better than niche colors. For buyers seeking a reliable family workhorse that handles the school run and weekend desert trails with equal poise, this is a calculated, low-risk investment.

This Car vs Other 2019 Prados

At 101,049 km, this vehicle is aligned with the average annual usage expected for a 7-year-old SUV in the GCC, where 20,000 km per year is the standard benchmark. Its GCC regional specification is a critical advantage, ensuring the cooling system and air conditioning are optimized for extreme summer temperatures unlike American or European imports. The silver finish remains one of the fastest-selling colors in the UAE, providing a distinct edge in future resale liquidity.

EXR vs Lower Trims

The EXR serves as the essential entry point into the Prado's 4x4 capability, featuring a rear differential lock and full-time four-wheel drive as standard. While higher trims add luxury tech like sunroofs or 360-degree cameras, the EXR focuses on core utility with durable fabric seating and a center console cooler box, which is a highly valued feature for long summer drives across the Emirates.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado consistently leads rivals like the Mitsubishi Pajero and Nissan Pathfinder in long-term value retention and parts availability across the entire GCC. Its body-on-frame construction provides a level of off-road durability that monocoque competitors cannot match, while the 87-litre fuel tank ensures superior range for cross-border trips to Oman or Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 12.0 L/100km, with highway cruising dropping closer to 10.0 L/100km. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km at authorized centers like Al Futtaim, where parts are readily available and affordable. The Prado maintains one of the lowest depreciation rates in the region, typically retaining a significant portion of its value even as it crosses the 150,000 km threshold.

Performance & Capability

The 2.7-liter engine is engineered for longevity rather than outright speed, producing a reliable 164 hp and 245 Nm of torque. This powertrain is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a full-time 4WD system, providing the necessary low-end grunt for light dune bashing and gravel tracks. Its high ground clearance and generous approach angles make it a versatile companion for weekend adventures outside the city.

Comfort & Cabin

The 7-seat configuration is highly flexible, allowing for a flat-folding third row to expand cargo space for family road trips. The cabin is specifically insulated against GCC heat, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to ensure passenger comfort in all three rows. Essential tech includes cruise control and Bluetooth connectivity, keeping the driving experience focused and functional.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this GCC-spec EXR includes dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and Traction Control. It also features Hill Start Assist Control (HAC) and Down Hill Assist Control (DAC), which provide additional stability when navigating steep terrain or sandy inclines common in the region's desert parks.

The bottom line

Perfect for the pragmatic GCC family or desert enthusiast, this Prado offers the ultimate balance of legendary reliability and market-leading resale value.
