Summary

This 2021 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum represents the high-spec choice for buyers who prioritise long-distance endurance and mechanical V8 durability. While the mileage reflects active use, these Y62 units are renowned across the region for their ability to comfortably surpass 300,000 km with routine maintenance. The white exterior is the most sought-after colour for resale in the local market, offering excellent thermal reflection during the peak summer months. As a regional icon, this Patrol offers a level of cabin cooling and highway stability that remains the benchmark for large family SUVs. For a GCC buyer, this is a chance to secure the flagship powertrain in its most luxurious trim at a value-driven point in its lifecycle.

This Car vs Other 2021 Patrols

With just over 100,000 km, this vehicle sits at the average mileage mark for a three-year-old SUV in the GCC, where highway-heavy commutes are standard. Unlike many lower-trim XE or SE models found on the market, this LE Platinum retains its value significantly better due to the desirability of the 5.6L V8 engine. The white paintwork is a strategic choice for the UAE, as it maintains the highest demand and fastest turnaround time in the used market.

LE PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum trim adds essential GCC luxury features that the Titanium and SE models lack, most notably the Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) system for superior high-speed cornering and off-road stability. Inside, you move up to quilted semi-aniline leather, a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system, and a built-in refrigerator in the center console. It also includes the full suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, featuring a 360-degree bird's eye view camera and adaptive cruise control.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Against the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Patrol offers a more refined, car-like interior and a smoother highway ride thanks to its independent rear suspension. Its 140-litre fuel tank provides a significant range advantage for long-distance desert trips compared to the smaller tanks found in American rivals like the Chevrolet Tahoe. The V8 engine's naturally aspirated power delivery is also preferred by local enthusiasts for its predictable response in deep sand.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 typically averages between 16L and 18L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though highway cruising can see this improve significantly. Service intervals are every 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the region, ensuring parts are affordable and widely available in every emirate. As a GCC-spec LE Platinum, this vehicle historically depreciates at a slower rate than European luxury SUVs, retaining approximately 65-70% of its value after three years.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine delivers a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 7.4 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on 140 km/h highways. Its specialized 4WD system includes selectable modes for Sand, Rock, Snow, and On-road, paired with a low-range transfer case for serious dune bashing. With a 3,500 kg towing capacity and 273 mm of ground clearance, it is as much a workhorse as it is a luxury cruiser.

Comfort & Cabin

The eight-seat layout is specifically designed for large families, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents that can drop cabin temperatures rapidly even in 50°C heat. Front seats are both ventilated and heated, while the rear entertainment screens keep passengers occupied on long trips between cities. Acoustic glass and thick insulation ensure the cabin remains a quiet sanctuary from wind and road noise at high speeds.

Safety

This trim is equipped with Nissan's comprehensive Safety Shield 360, which includes Intelligent Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection and Lane Intervention. For GCC highway driving, the Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert provide vital assistance in fast-moving traffic. The vehicle also features six airbags and a high-strength body-on-frame construction, offering maximum protection for all eight occupants.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a family or desert enthusiast to own the definitive GCC SUV icon in its flagship V8 form, offering the perfect balance of luxury, resale security, and legendary reliability.
