Summary

This 2022 Bentley Bentayga S represents the sharper, driver-focused evolution of the luxury SUV segment, finished in a classic British Racing Green that holds exceptional prestige and resale appeal in the GCC. With the Vehicle Age at 4 years, the mileage reflects a car that has been regularly enjoyed on the UAE's high-speed highways, a driving environment these hand-built V8 engines are engineered to handle with ease. The S trim bridges the gap between the standard V8 and the Speed, offering a sportier suspension tune and active anti-roll technology as standard. For the GCC buyer, this provides the perfect balance of cross-emirate touring comfort and the agility required for more spirited driving. It stands out as a more athletic alternative to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan while offering more exclusivity than a standard Range Rover Autobiography.

This Car vs Other 2022 Bentaygas

With 125,000 km over 4 years, this Bentayga S has seen more highway use than the average low-mileage garage queen, typically translating to more consistent mechanical cycling which can be beneficial for high-performance cooling systems. In the GCC market, the Green exterior is a highly desirable 'heritage' choice that distinguishes it from the common white and black fleet, often supporting better long-term value retention. This specific example offers a significant saving over lower-mileage units while maintaining the high-spec features of the S trim.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim is a major step up from the base V8, most notably including the Bentley Dynamic Ride active anti-roll system which uses a 48V architecture to keep the car flat through corners—a feature GCC drivers will appreciate on winding mountain roads like Jebel Hafeet. It also adds a more aggressive Sport exhaust, dark-tinted exterior brightware, and 22-inch S-specific directional wheels as standard. Inside, the S features a unique Alcantara-heavy color split and dedicated 'S' digital graphics that aren't found on the standard model.

Bentayga vs Segment Rivals

The Bentayga S competes directly with the Lamborghini Urus and the Aston Martin DBX, leading the group in interior craftsmanship and cabin isolation from the intense GCC summer heat. While the Urus focuses on raw aggression, the Bentley offers a more refined 'grand touring' SUV experience with a larger focus on rear-seat luxury and material quality. Its 85-litre fuel tank also provides superior range for long-distance desert highway hauls compared to many performance-oriented rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V8 typically averages around 13.0L/100km on the highway, though GCC city traffic can see this rise toward 19.0L/100km. Service intervals are required every 16,000 km or annually, with Bentley's authorized service network being well-established in major GCC hubs like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a higher market value and easier serviceability than grey-market imports, with the Bentayga range generally seeing a depreciation of approximately 42% over five years.

Performance & Capability

The 550 hp twin-turbo V8 delivers a top speed of 290 km/h, making it one of the fastest SUVs on the road today. The S-specific 'Enhanced Sport Mode' sharpens the throttle response and adds 15% more damping stiffness, allowing for a remarkably composed feel during high-speed highway overtakes. Despite its luxury focus, the permanent four-wheel-drive system and adjustable air suspension provide enough ground clearance to handle light gravel paths and sandy terrain during weekend getaways.

Comfort & Cabin

This five-seat configuration provides a spacious 484-litre boot, ideal for family road trips between emirates. The cabin features acoustic side glass and factory-tinted windows as standard, which are essential for maintaining a cool interior temperature during the peak GCC summer. Hand-stitched leather and premium veneers are paired with a 10.9-inch high-resolution touchscreen, ensuring the latest in connectivity is always available within a traditional luxury environment.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the S includes a 360-degree camera system, which is invaluable for maneuvering a large SUV in tight city parking. It features a full ADAS suite with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist, both of which reduce driver fatigue on long desert highways. Additionally, the standard night vision system and blind-spot monitoring provide extra security during fast-moving night drives on unlit inter-city roads.

The bottom line

This Bentayga S is the ideal choice for a driver who wants Bentley's peerless luxury but in its most athletic form. It represents a high-spec, GCC-ready opportunity for a buyer who values performance-oriented tech like active anti-roll bars in a classic, high-resale color.
