Summary

This 2023 Ford Territory Trend offers a compelling mix of modern technology and family-sized space, making it a standout in the competitive GCC crossover market. Finished in Panther Black, a perennially strong resale color in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, this unit features the 1.8L EcoBoost engine which provides better highway overtaking confidence than many smaller-displacement rivals. With 88,255 km, the mileage reflects consistent use typical of a daily commuter between emirates, and its GCC-spec status ensures the air conditioning and engine cooling are built for extreme summer heat. As the second-generation model, it introduces a vastly improved interior that rivals luxury segments in design and tech integration. For a buyer seeking a balanced family SUV that holds its value, this Ford Territory is a smart, modern choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 Ford Territorys

With approximately 88,255 km, this vehicle’s mileage is average for a GCC-based SUV that serves as a primary family car, where annual distances often reach 25,000 km due to highway commuting. The Panther Black exterior is a top-tier choice for the local market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention compared to niche colors. Being a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a regional cooling system and full serviceability at any authorized Ford center across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

TREND vs Lower Trims

The Trend trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base Ambiente by adding a 12.3-inch high-resolution touchscreen and a more premium cabin feel. You also gain dual-zone automatic climate control, which is essential for maintaining comfort during the intense GCC summer months. Exterior upgrades include 18-inch alloy wheels and LED fog lamps that give the Trend a more assertive presence on the road.

Ford Territory vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Territory leads the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5 in terms of sheer interior volume and rear-seat legroom, providing a more airy feel for growing families. Its 1.8L EcoBoost engine offers 320 Nm of torque, which outmuscles many naturally aspirated rivals in the same price bracket, making highway merges and overtaking much smoother. The integration of a 12.3-inch screen as standard in the Trend trim offers a more modern digital experience than the smaller displays often found in Japanese competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.8L EcoBoost engine delivers a respectable fuel economy of approximately 8.0 L/100km on the highway, though this will increase in stop-start Dubai or Riyadh traffic. Ford’s extensive service network across the GCC ensures parts are readily available and maintenance costs remain predictable. Historically, the Territory has shown strong value retention in the UAE, typically holding up to 70% of its value after three years, particularly for well-maintained GCC-spec units in popular colors like black.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 190 hp 1.8L turbocharged engine, the Territory manages the 0–100 km/h sprint in approximately 8.5 seconds, offering a nippy response for city driving. The 7-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, providing a comfortable ride for long weekend trips across borders. While front-wheel drive, the selectable 'Trail' mode optimizes traction for gravel paths and light desert tracks often encountered during GCC camping weekends.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with the GCC climate in mind, featuring powerful dual-zone AC and rear vents to keep all five passengers cool. The 448-liter boot is generous for grocery runs and weekend luggage, expanding to 1,422 liters with the seats folded. Acoustic insulation has been improved in this generation to keep the cabin quiet during high-speed cruising on the E11 or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

Safety

The Trend trim includes a robust safety suite with six airbags, stability control, and traction control as standard. For highway safety, it features a Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and rear parking sensors with a high-definition camera to assist in tight urban parking. The four-wheel disc brakes and electronic brakeforce distribution provide consistent stopping power, even when the vehicle is fully loaded with family and gear.

The bottom line

This 2023 Ford Territory Trend is the ideal upgrade for a family seeking modern tech and turbocharged power without the luxury price tag, standing as a high-value opportunity in the current GCC used market.
