Summary

This 2023 Range Rover SE offers a significant opportunity for GCC buyers, combining the flagship BMW-sourced V8 powertrain with a highly desirable white-on-leather specification. With mileage well under the typical 25,000 km annual average for the region, this SUV remains in its mechanical prime and holds strong resale potential. The SE trim on this new L460 generation is exceptionally well-equipped, bridging the gap to higher trims with its standard luxury features and refined road presence. For those seeking the benchmark in luxury SUVs, this V8 model delivers effortless highway performance and the prestige necessary for both Dubai city commutes and cross-border drives. Its Canadian origin means it carries high-spec cabin features while benefiting from the same global mechanical architecture used in authorized GCC service centers.

This Car vs Other 2023 Range Rovers

At 39,500 km, this Range Rover has been driven significantly less than the typical 50,000 km expected for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC's highway-heavy environment. Its white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local used market, ensuring faster turnover and better value retention when it's time to trade in. While a Canadian spec car, it shares the same 4.4L V8 engine as local models, making it a powerful alternative to the more common six-cylinder variants.

SE vs Lower Trims

The SE trim on this generation serves as a high-baseline entry into the Range Rover experience, featuring a 13.1-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen and 20-way heated electric seats as standard. This specific SE model is powered by the flagship 523 hp V8, a massive performance leap over the base 3.0L inline-six P400 models often found at this price point. It includes essential GCC luxuries like a panoramic roof and premium Windsor leather that are often optional on lower-tier SUVs.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

The Range Rover remains the benchmark against rivals like the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS by offering superior off-road hardware, including a twin-speed transfer box and high-clearance air suspension. Its 4.4L twin-turbo V8 provides more character and effortless torque for high-speed highway overtaking than the smaller turbocharged engines in many competitors. The minimalist interior design and 'hidden-until-lit' exterior lighting give it a modern edge that rivals often struggle to match in terms of pure aesthetic prestige.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this V8 powertrain typically averages around 13.3 L/100km, reflecting its capability on long-distance desert highways. While a Canadian spec car, the extensive Jaguar Land Rover service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures that parts and expert maintenance are readily available. Range Rovers in the GCC typically see a depreciation rate of 12-15% annually, but the V8 engine and white paintwork act as a buffer against steeper value drops compared to niche colors or smaller engines.

Performance & Capability

The 523 hp V8 propels this SUV from 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, a figure that rivals many dedicated sports cars on the E11. Standard Terrain Response 2 hardware allows the driver to toggle between specialized modes for sand, grass, or gravel, making it perfectly suited for weekend escapes to the dunes. The electronic air suspension can raise the vehicle to provide significant ground clearance for obstacles while lowering automatically at highway speeds to improve stability and efficiency.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a sanctuary of acoustic glass and fine leather, designed to isolate passengers from the extreme 45°C+ summer heat of the Gulf. Three-zone climate control ensures that rear passengers remain as comfortable as those in the front, with dedicated vents and high-output cooling. The 13.1-inch curved glass infotainment system provides seamless wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay, ensuring navigation and media are always at your fingertips during long drives between emirates.

Safety

This Range Rover comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including a 360° 3D surround camera that is indispensable for parking in tight city spaces. Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist makes long desert highway stretches less fatiguing, while Blind Spot Assist provides critical safety on fast-moving multi-lane roads. Lane Keep Assist and Emergency Braking are also standard, contributing to its reputation as one of the safest luxury vehicles on the road today.

The bottom line

This V8-powered Range Rover is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the flagship driving experience and maximum resale appeal without the six-figure price premium of an Autobiography trim.
